I found this tag on The Quirky Book Nerd’s blog, and even though it’s a really old post, I thought it would be a still be a fun tag to do given that the autumn weather has finally arrived!
What is your favourite thing about autumn?
Autumn is my favourite season, and there’s no way I can pick a single favourite thing about it. I love being able to wear cozy sweaters again, the cooler weather, the changing leaves, pumpkin spice everything, apple picking, switching from rosé to cider, curling up with warm tea and good books, and so much more.
What book reminds you of your school days?
For this question, I’m going to pick A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. I remember looking for a book to read in grade six, and my teacher recommended that I try reading The Bad Beginning. It was a moment that changed my life forever because I ended up devouring the series and it paved the way for me to become the avid reader that I am today.
What cover reminds you of autumn?
There’s something about the Charlotte Holmes covers by Brittany Cavallaro that remind me of autumn.
What is your favourite horror or Halloween story?
I don’t know if these count as a horror or a Halloween story, but I loved The Graveyard Book and Coraline by Neil Gaiman.
What is your favourite horror or Halloween film?
Confession time! To the best of my knowledge, I’ve only watched one horror movie in my life, and that was because my friend wanted to see the new Daniel Radcliffe movie. I don’t like horror or frightening things (with the strange exception of Criminal Minds), so I don’t know how to answer this question. I’m also hopelessly behind with my movie watching, and there are A LOT of classic Halloween movies that I haven’t seen, for example, I have somehow existed for 25 years without seeing The Nightmare Before Christmas or The Corpse Bride. My point is, I don’t think I have a favourite horror or Halloween film.
What autumn book release are you looking forward to?
There are so many! Fortunately, a lot of them were released last week, so I don’t have to wait any longer. Some of the ones that I’m most excited for are What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera, Dear Evan Hansen by Val Emmich, and Rick Mercer Final Report by Rick Mercer.
What autumn movie release are you anticipating?
Surprisingly, there are two movies coming out that I’m looking forward to seeing. One of them is Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald because it’s Harry Potter related. The other one is the remake of The Grinch, and that’s because I love Benedict Cumberbatch.
What are the three books you plan to read this autumn?
I am terrible with sticking to TBR lists, so who knows if I’ll actually read these three books before the season is over, but I’m going to try to read What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera; Us Against You by Fredrik Backman; and Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan.
I tag anyone who wants to participate and I can’t wait to see your answers!
[…] is the first day of autumn, I thought it would be fitting to do an autumn themed book tag. I did this tag way back in 2018 when I was a baby book blogger and I thought it would be fun to do it again now […]
