Hello everyone and happy (almost) Halloween!
I was looking for a Halloween tag to do for this week, and I stumbled upon The Halloween Creatures 2.0 Book Tag, and it looked like a lot of fun. This tag was created by Anthony @ Keep Reading Forward, and I’m glad that I stumbled upon his blog because he has some amazing content.
Witch (A Magical Character or Book)
For this question, I have to pick Harry Potter because it was the first magical world that I fell in love with.
Werewolf (The Perfect Book to Read at Night)
I think all books are perfect for reading at night because I prefer to read in bed, but I’ll pick the Inspector Gamache books by Louise Penny because reading cozy mysteries in a cozy bed is always nice.
Frankenstein (A Book that Truly Shocked You)
For this prompt I’m going to pick The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, there was something about the portrait that shocked me.
The Devil (A Dark, Evil Character)
She’s not necessarily dark, she’s actually quite pink, but Umbridge from Harry Potter is pure evil!
Grim Reaper (A Character that Should Never Have Died)
I have to be super vague with this because I don’t want to spoil anything, but I’ll just say that when you read The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas, bring tissues.
Zombie (A Book that Made You “Hungry” for More)
Do graphic novels count as books? If so, Fables Vol 1: Legends in Exile by Bill Willingham got me hooked on series, and I keep on running to the comic book store so that I can get my hands on the next volumes.
Gargoyle (A Character that You Would Protect at All Cost)
Two characters that I would protect at all costs are Cath and Levi from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, they’re precious cinnamon rolls, and I love them.
Vampire (A Book that Sucked the Life Out of You)
For this one, I’m going to go with the emotionally draining rollercoaster called Lily and the Octopus by Steven Rowley.
Ghost (A Book that Still Haunts You)
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak is a book that still haunts me. It’s so beautifully haunting, and I don’t think I’ll ever forget it.
Demon (A Book that Really Scared You)
I don’t read horror stories, so I can’t think of any books that scared me. One book that did creep me out was Coraline by Neil Gaiman; there’s just something about the button eyes that freaks me out.
Skeleton (A Character You Have a Bone to Pick With)
I would love to sit down with Monty from The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee and yell at him for all of his poor decisions in the book. He drove me crazy, and I often found myself yelling at him while reading.
Mummy (A Book You Would Preserve Throughout Time)
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams! It’s one of my favourites, and I want it to live on forever!
Creepy Doll (A Cover too Scary to Look At)
I don’t like eyes on covers, because it’s like they’re watching me, so I’m going to pick the Folio edition of 1984 by George Orwell. It’s a good thing it comes in a slipcase, so the eyes are hidden, and I can forget they’re there!
The Monster Mash (It’s Fun to Be with Friends on Halloween! Tag Your Friends!)
I’m tagging Katie at Lost in Pages and Shannon at Floral Fire Heart Reads and anyone else who wants to join in on the fun!
