Hello everyone and happy Monday!
I hope everyone had a good weekend and that they were able to get some reading in.
This week’s letter for the ABC Book Challenge is C and I found myself constantly remembering titles to add to the TBR section.
Memorable “C” Titles
Chaotic Good by Whitney Gardner: I read this book earlier this year, and I absolutely loved it. It’s full of relatable characters and geeky references. It also deals with a lot of important and relevant issues like cyberbullying. If you’re interested, you can check out my full review here!
Calypso by David Sedaris: I’m a huge fan of David Sedaris, and when I found out that he had a new book out this year, I sent my boyfriend to the bookstore to buy me a copy. My boyfriend, who I love very much, doesn’t handle book emergencies very well and he ended up asking the employee if they had the book with the tree face on it. Somehow, he managed to buy me the right book, and it turned out to be one of my favourite David Sedaris books.
Cinder by Marissa Meyer: This is the first book in the Lunar Chronicles, which is a series that I’ll hopefully get around to finishing soon. I read Cinder last year, and even though I enjoyed it, I didn’t pick up Scarlett right away, and now I’ve procrastinated so much that I’ll probably have to re-read Cinder again. Fortunately, I really like the characters in this book, so a re-read wouldn’t be too bad.
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas: Does this book need an introduction or a description? This is another book that I read last year and then didn’t get around to finishing the second book (reading slumps suck!) I’m hoping to re-read it sometime next year, so I can venture back into Prythian and become better acquainted with Rhysand and the Inner Circle.
Coraline by Neil Gaiman: I’ve read this book twice now, and both times it has creeped me out. The first time I read it was for an English class I took in my first semester of University, if I remember correctly, the class was about isolation and alienation. Overall, I wasn’t a huge fan of the class, but I liked Coraline enough that I held onto it. I decided to re-read the book this year, and all I can say is that button eyes are creepy, and I’m glad I read this book as an adult instead of as a kid.
Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan: I decided to include this book on the list because it’s my current read! This month I’m reading Crazy Rich Asians with one of my best friends, and I’m looking forward to our book club (wine club) meeting about it!
