Give Thanks for all the Great Reads Tag

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends and happy Thursday to everyone else! I hope everyone is having an excellent day!

I was tagged by the very lovely Abbey @ Three Cats and a Girl to do this tag (she also created it!); if you’re not following her, you need to check her out.

img_3818You Turkey! ~ a book that made you laugh

I started reading The Accidental Further Adventures of the Hundred-Year-Old Man by Jonas Jonasson and every time I pick it up I find myself laughing. The storyline is so over the top, with some frighteningly possible moments, and I can’t help but laugh at all of the shenanigans that Allan gets himself into.

img_1060I’m Stuffed ~ a book that completely satisfied you

If you’re a fan of mysteries, I recommend you check out the Inspector Gamache books by Louise Penny. The second book, Dead Cold, was full of twists and turns and the ending was surprising and satisfying.

This week I finished reading Crazy Rich Asians, and I can’t wait to dive into China Rich Girlfriend by Kevin Kwan. Originally, I wasn’t sure if I was going to read the sequels, but the ending of Crazy Rich Asians made me want to know what happens next with all of the characters.

img_2649Go Team! ~ a book where you found yourself really cheering for a certain character

When I was reading How to Stop Time by Matt Haig, I found myself rooting for Tom Hazard. I wanted him to find his daughter and to have a happy ending.

img_4704Macy’s Day Parade ~ a book that’s always there waiting on the bookshelf to be read and you know you’ll get to it eventually

There are a lot of books that have been sitting on my shelf unread for years, but One Day by David Nicholls has probably been sitting there the longest. One day (oh look a pun!) I will get to it, and until then it will sit with all the other stories on my shelf.

img_1169Traditions ~ a book you could/do reread every year because it’s so dang good

Though I don’t reread it every year, I would love to reread The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams on Towel Day every year. I’ve reread this book a few times over the years and every time I’ve picked up on new jokes that make me appreciate it even more.

img_4703I’m Thankful For ~ a book that really helped you in life

There are so many books that I’m thankful for, but one of the ones that I’m most thankful for is The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. I read this book when I was in high school, and there was something about the characters and the memorable lines that have helped me get through some difficult times.

This year I’m thankful for all the wonderful people I’ve met in the book community. I’ve made some amazing friends, and I’m hoping to make many more friends next year.

I tag Lily @ Sprinkles of Dreams, Kellie at Kellie’s Book Nook, and anyone else who wants to participate!

If you do decide to participate, make sure you tag Abbey so she can add more books to her neverending TBR!
