Happy New Year Everyone!
I hope everyone had a great night celebrating and that they’re ready to tackle their TBRs in 2019!
Since I didn’t come close to reaching my reading goals in 2018, I decided to set myself a modest goal of reading 36 books in 2019. I figured that I should be able to read at least three books a month, and hopefully, I’ll be able to surpass my goal and have the privilege of seeing the lovely completed banner on Goodreads for the first time in a long time.
This year I’m also looking to be an active participant in the Neverending TBR Book Club and the Bibliophile Prints 2019 Reading Challenge. I’m hoping that these groups will help me tackle all the unread books sitting on my shelves and allow me to chat with other book lovers about what we’re reading.
Anyways, without further ado, here are the three books that I’m hoping to tackle in January!
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid: This is one of the books of the month for the Neverending TBR Book Club. It’s also the book that I’m buddy reading with one of my best friends. We were supposed to read it last year, but we both hit reading slumps and didn’t get around to it. I’ve heard amazing things about this book, so I’m looking forward to diving into it.
American Gods by Neil Gaiman: I tried reading this book two years ago, but then I hit a reading slump and didn’t end up finishing it. I’m going to try to read it again this month because I want to watch the show and eventually read the graphic novel. I’m also using this book to fulfil the first challenge (read a book with over 500 pages) for the Bibliophile Prints Reading Challenge.
My True Love Gave to Me edited by Stephanie Perkins: I started reading this book a few days ago, and I’m determined to finish it soon. It’s super cute and wintry, and I love it so far.
What are you planning on reading in January? Let me know in the comments!
I just got the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo because people can’t stop talking about it. I can’t wait to read it
It sounds like such an amazing book! I hope it lives up to the hype
Me too! I hear nothing but good things
Awesome TBR this month! I read “My True Love Gave to Me” two years ago and loved almost all of the stories in it! I have heard SO MANY people talk about “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” all around the bookish community over the past few weeks and plan on reading it sometime soon. I hope you love it!!! Happy Reading!
Thank you! I’m about two thirds of the way through “My True Love Gave To Me” and the stories are so good!!
