January 13 – Weekly Wrap-Up

Hello everyone!

I’m back this week with another weekly wrap-up post. This is going to be a short post, because I had a long and uneventful week, so there’s not very much to report.

Reading Updates

Unfortunately, I didn’t finish reading any books this week. Last week I started reading Scythe by Neal Schusterman, and I’m still working my way through it. I’m still enjoying the book, and I like the characters, but I’ve been fairly tired this week, which isn’t optimal for reading. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to finish Scythe tonight or tomorrow so that I can dive into The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkin Reid.

I managed to add two books to my library this week. The first book is The Field Guide to the North American Teenager by Ben Phillipe. This is a 2019 debut, and I’m looking forward to reading it because the synopsis sounds like it could be a fun book. The other book I bought is The Cruel Prince by Holly Black. I wasn’t planning on buying this book, but I saw a hardcover copy at Indigo, and I decided that I had to snag a copy for the beautiful inlay underneath the jacket.

Life Updates

This was my first full week of work since the holidays, and it was a struggle to get through. There’s a lot of stuff going on at my workplace right now, and it’s been a bit of an adjustment getting back into the full swing of things.

Yesterday, my boyfriend and my friend Kathryn came over for tea and board games. We played Unstable Unicorns for the first time, and it was a ton of fun. It took us a little while to figure out how to play, but once we got the hang of it, there was a lot of cursing and cruel tactics used.

Today is my dad’s birthday, and we went to my brother’s house for breakfast to celebrate it. It was a nice way to spend a few hours, and now I’m ready to spend the rest of the day being lazy and drafting blog posts this week. I’m also hoping to get in a little bit of reading today, and maybe play another board game or two.

How about you? What have you been up to this week? Let me know!

  1. I hope you end up really loving Scythe! 🙂 And resting is of course also important! Sometimes you’re just too tired to read
