January 2019 Wrap-Up

Hello everyone!

Can you believe that January is finally over? It feels like this month dragged on forever, and I’m so glad to be done with it.

The one positive thing about this month is that it was an excellent reading month. I managed to finish six books, and I also added six books to my collection.

Books I Finished:

My True Love Gave to Me edited by Stephanie Perkins: This book of festive short stories was the perfect book to start my year off with. It introduced me to a bunch of new YA authors that I’m looking forward to reading more of in the upcoming months. Overall, I rated this book 3.5 out of 5 stars because even though I enjoyed the book, there were some stories that I didn’t like.

Scythe by Neal Shusterman: I picked up this book because I’ve seen so many people rave about it and I’m glad that I did. Overall, I rated this book 4 out of 5 stars. My review of Scythe should be posted next Friday!

img_5483The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid: This book was amazing! I don’t know why I waited so long to read it, because I ended up loving it. If you’re interested, you can check out my full review here!

Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson: I finally decided to pick up this book because I was interested in the sequel, and I ended up loving it. If you’re a fan of Agatha Christie-style mysteries, I recommend that you read this book. I can’t wait to read the sequel because I need to know what happens next. Overall, I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars.

The Strange Journey of Alice Pendelbury by Marc Levy: This was an ARC I received from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review (coming on Friday!), and it was an enjoyable read. Overall, I rated this book 3.5 out of 5 stars.

The Field Guide to the North American Teenager by Ben Philippe: This was one of my 2019 anticipated releases, and I enjoyed it. The premise was a lot of fun, and I’m looking forward to seeing what Ben Philippe writes next. Overall, I rated this book 4 out of 5 stars.
