Hello everyone!
How was everyone’s weekend? My weekend involved playing Cards Against Humanity with my Aunt, Uncle, and Father. I do not recommend playing Cards Against Humanity with your parents, and if you ever find yourself in that situation, make sure you have lots of wine because there are some phrases you never want to hear your parents say.
This week’s ABC Book Challenge is all about the letter L, and I’m thankful that I have lots of books to talk about this week.
If you’ve missed any of my previous posts, you can check them out here: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, & K.
Memorable Reads that Start with “L”
Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch: I read this book last summer, and it was the perfect summer read. Between the descriptions of the food and the scenery, it made me want to hop on a plane and travel to Italy. I also really liked the main character of this book, and I recommend you check out this book if you’re looking for something cute and summery to read.
Love & Luck by Jenna Evans Welch: This book is a companion novel to Love & Gelato, and it is also a perfect summer read. It takes place in Ireland, and after reading it, I wanted to drop everything to go on a European adventure. The other reasons why I included this book on this list is because it deals with some important topic and because I adore the friendship between Lina and Addie.
Lily and the Octopus by Steven Rowley: I included this book because it is one of the most heartbreaking books I have ever read. If you’re an animal lover, you’ll need a box of tissues when you read this book, because you’re going to ugly cry. Your animals will also probably be confused as to why you’re crying and cuddling them so tightly, but they’ll get over it.
Let’s Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson: I remember being in high school and getting an email about this book and thinking to myself that it sounded super weird and I was never going to read it. A few years later I changed my mind and decided to give it a shot, and it’s one of the greatest decisions I’ve ever made. This book is brilliant, funny, and a whole bunch of other adjectives and I recommend it to everyone.
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis: This book is a childhood staple, and I love it. It was one of the first magical worlds that I fell in love with, and I really should reread this series so I can experience being completely enthralled with Narnia again.
