The Summer Book Tag

The Summer Book Tag Banner

Hello everyone!

Once September hits, I usually go into full autumn mode. I love cooler weather, plaid shirts, and pumpkin spice everything and as far as I’m concerned, September means autumn. However, the calendar says that there are still a few weeks left of summer, and I decided that I wanted to do this tag while it’s still seasonally appropriate. I originally saw this tag on rosiefrecklereads’ blog.

What Book Cover Makes You Think of Summer?

img_7222The cover of Hot Dog Girl by Jennifer Dugan reminds me of summer. There’s something about carnivals and Ferris wheels that scream summer to me, even though I can’t remember the last time I was at a carnival.

What Book Brightened Your Day?

img_7223The Princess and the Fangirl by Ashley Poston is a recent read that brightened my day. I read it a few months ago, and it made my fangirl heart sing with joy.

Find a Book Cover with Yellow On It

img_7216The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren is the first yellow book that I could think of for this question. I haven’t read this book yet, but I’m planning on reading it this month with one of my friends and fellow bookstagrammers.

What is Your Favourite Summer Beach Read?

img_7220“Beach read” is one of those terms that I don’t entirely understand because I haven’t been to the beach in YEARS! If I did go to the beach, I think I’d want to read something like Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan because it’s fun, dramatic, and the story is easy to get hooked on.

What Action Book Had You Running For The Ice Cream Man?

img_7219This question confuses me, but I’m going to say Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff because it’s the most recent action book I’ve read.

What Book Left You With a Bad and/or Painful Ending?

img_7218Lily and the Octopus by Steven Rowley is a book that left me heartbroken and in tears. If you decide to read this book, make sure you have a box of tissues nearby, because you’re going to need it.

What Book Gave You The Happiest Feelings When it Ended?

img_7217I like books with happy endings, and lately, I’ve been reading a lot of fluffier, feel-good books. One book that left me incredibly happy was The Hating Game by Sally Thorne. I loved the characters, and Lucy and Joshua are my OTP.

What Book Cover Reminds You of a Sunset?

img_7221When I saw this question, I immediately thought of The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon. The orange, purple, and pink colours on the cover scream sunset to me.

What is One Book or Series You Hope to Read This Summer?

img_7215I’m going to alter this question just a little bit because summer is over. One book that I hoped I would read this summer, but didn’t get to was the collection of short stories called Summer Days and Summer Nights. I’m still interested in reading this book at some point, but I think I’m going to wait until next summer.
