Hello Everyone!
Today is my 26th birthday, and I decided to do the Birthday Book Tag to celebrate! I’ve seen this tag on a few people’s blogs in the past, and when I went looking for it again, I found it on The Bibliophile Girl’s blog.
Birthday Cake – A Book with a Plot That Seems Cliché but You Adore it Anyway
There are so many books that I could pick for this question, but I’m going to go with The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory. The book follows a standard rom-com formula, but I absolutely love it.
Party Guests – Your Most Anticipated Book Release This Year
My birthday is fairly late in the year, and I haven’t been paying too much attention to fall 2019 releases, but two books that came out recently that I’m looking forward to reading are Break in Case of Emergency by Brian Francis and Frankly in Love by David Yoon.
Birthday Presents – A Book That Surprised You with How Much You Loved It
Sci-Fi and Fantasy are a genre I usually struggle with, so when I fell in love with Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff, it was a surprise. The characters are amazing, and the storyline is fast-paced and phenomenal. This is also the first book that I listened to on audiobook, which turned out to be a great decision.
The Happy Birthday Song – A Book That Certainly Deserved All the Hype It Got
The first book that came to mind for this question was Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston. In my opinion, this book deserved every ounce of hype that it got and so much more. For me, this book is what happens when a rom-com meets The West Wing, which is the mashup I didn’t know I needed in my life until I read this book.
Happy Music – A Book with Some Very Beautiful and Truly Memorable Quotes
One of the most hauntingly beautiful books I’ve read is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. It’s full of some beautiful lines that I love, including “I am haunted by humans” and “I have hated words, and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right.”
Getting Older – A Book That You Read A Long Time Ago, Buy You Think That You Would Appreciate It More If You Read It as A More Mature Reader
For this question, I’m going to go with When God Was A Rabbit by Sarah Winman. I read this book around the time it was released, and I know I enjoyed it, but I don’t remember much of what happened. I do remember that this book dealt with some heavy topics, and I think that now I’m older, I’d be able to appreciate it more.
Sweet Birthday Memories – A Book That Kept You Incredibly Happy During A Sad or Demanding Period of Your Life
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell is one of those books that I think about whenever I’m feeling sad. There’s something about Cath overcoming her struggles and making it through her first year of university that is comforting to me. I also love the relationship between Cath and Levi, and they always make me smile.
Happy birthday!!!!! :))))
