Hello everyone!
Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Bionic Bookworm! If you’re interested in participating, check out her wonderful blog to get the details and the prompts for each week!
This month is a theme month at Top 5 Tuesday, and throughout the month, I’ll be listing authors A-Z! This week, the topic is Author’s A-E, and this topic was shockingly more difficult than I initially thought it would be. Fortunately, Goodreads exists, and it makes finding authors a lot easier.
Douglas Adams: The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is the inspiration for my blog name, so of course I had to pick Douglas Adams as my “A” author. Oddly enough, I haven’t read the Dirk Gently books, even though I’ve had them sitting on my shelf for a few years now.
Augusten Burroughs: I picked up Running with Scissors when I was in High School, and since then, I’ve read all Augusten Burroughs’s books. I love his memoirs and his self-deprecating humour. His most recent book, Toil & Trouble, was a little bit different, but I enjoyed the supernatural elements in it.
Brittany Cavallaro: The Charlotte Holmes books are one of my favourite YA Mystery series. I love Sherlock Holmes, and I love the adventures that Holmes and Watson get into in this series. I’ve had Cavallaro’s other book, Hello Girls, on my shelf for about six months now, and I’m looking forward to seeing if I like it as much as the Charlotte Holmes series.
Arthur Conan Doyle: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is the creator of Sherlock Holmes, and I will be forever grateful for his existence. I love the Sherlock Holmes stories and novels, and I love all the spin-offs, adaptions, and retellings that come from these stories.
Jennifer Egan: According to Goodreads, I’ve only read one book by an “E” author, and that’s A Visit from the Good Squad by Jennifer Egan. I read this book awhile ago, and I really don’t remember much of what happened in it. I think this is a sign that I need to go to the bookstore and discover some “E” authors.
Great list!
