Currently Reading Book Tag

Currently Reading Book Tag Banner

Hello everyone!

I saw this book tag on Jessica’s blog, and it looked like a fun and quick tag to get me back into blogging daily again. I’m not going to tag anyone specific to do this tag, but feel free to join in; I’d love to see your answers.

How many books do you usually read at once?

I usually stick to reading only one book at a time. Sometimes, if I’m not loving a book, I’ll put it down for a while and start something new, but I don’t go back and forth between multiple books.

How do you decide when to switch between multiple reads?

I don’t; I try to only read one book at a time.

Do you ever switch bookmarks partway through a book?

No, but I do try to pick a bookmark that matches the book either by theme or aesthetically.

Where do you keep the book(s) you’re currently reading?

I usually keep my current read on my bedside table.

What time of day do you read the most?

I do most of my reading in the evening before going to bed. However, now that I’m off work for the foreseeable future with everything that’s been going on, I find myself reading at random times of the day.

How long do you typically read in one session?

It really depends on the book. Sometimes I’ll sit and read for hours without taking a break; other times, I’ll read for 15 minutes and then take a break. Lately, I’ve been setting a timer on my phone for 45 minutes, so I can focus on reading and then take a short break before reading again.

Do you read hardbacks with the dust jacket off?

I almost always take the dust jacket off when I’m reading a hardback book. I find that sometimes the dust jacket slides around too much, and I’m paranoid about tearing it, so I keep it safe on my desk.

What position do you mainly use to read?

Normally I put a pillow against the wall by my bed and read sitting up. If I’m reading an ebook, sometimes I’ll lay down to read, but that usually results in unplanned napping.

Do you take your current read with you everywhere you go?

If I’m reading an ebook, I bring it basically everywhere; even if I know I won’t have time to read it. If I’m reading a physical book, it depends on the size and weight of the book. It’s just not practical lugging a 400-page hardback book with you to the grocery store.

How often do you update your Goodreads reading progress?

I’m terrible at keeping my Goodreads reading progress up to date. I’m usually pretty good about adding books to my currently reading list when I start them, and then rating them and listing them as read as soon as I finish, but I rarely update it to say what page I’m on.

What book(s) are you currently reading?

Right now, my current read is The Secret Garden. I read the first few pages last night, and I’m hoping to read more of it today.

  1. Interesting tag 🙂
The only reason why I read multiple books at once is because I read one physical and one audio haha! More than that I cannot manage!
