O.W.L.s Readathon TBR

OWLS TBR Banner

Hello everyone!

Can you believe that it’s finally April and that the O.W.L.s Readathon is here? This is the first year that I’m catching the readathon early enough to participate, and I’m super excited to join in on all the fun.

The Magical Readathon was created and are hosted by Book Roast. There are two parts to it, the O.W.L.s (which take place in April) and the N.E.W.T.s (which take place in August). For this readathon, you pick a wizarding career that you wish to pursue, and then read books that fit the prompts for the courses you need to take. For more information, you can check out the Magical Readathon Website.

I’ve decided that the career I would like to pursue is Culinary Sorcerer. I love cooking and baking, and I would love to make delicious wizarding treats. One of my favourite things in the Harry Potter books are the feasts, and this makes me think that Culinary Sorcerer is the right career path for me!

The classes that I have to take for this career are Arithmancy, Charms, Herbology, and Potions. The prompts for these classes are:

Arithmancy: Magical Qualities of Number 2: Balance/Opposites – Read something outside your favourite genre

Charms: Lumos Maxima – White cover

Herbology: Mimbulus Mimbletonia – Title starts with an M

Potions: Shrinking SolutionBook under 150 pages

My TBR for these prompts are:

Arithmancy: The Cruel Prince by Holly Blackimg_0657

Charms: Dear Evan Hansen by Val Emmich

Herbology: Meet Cute by Helena Hunting

Potions: Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

Three of these books have been on my TBR for a while now, and I’m looking forward to getting to them. I read Alice in Wonderland years ago, but I’ve wanted to reread it recently, and I’m glad that I’m able to fit it into one of the prompts.

Are you participating in the O.W.L.s? What career are you pursuing? What’s on your TBR?
