Hello everyone!
I hope everyone is doing well and that you’re staying at home if you’re able to. Today I decided to do the Stay at Home Book Tag, which was created by Princess of Paperback. If you decide to do this tag, let me know because I would love to see your answers!
Laying in Bed – Book You Could/Have Read in a Day
The last book I read in a day was The Upside of Falling by Alex Light. I loved the characters, and once I started reading, I couldn’t put the book down. If you’re interested, you can read my review of the book here!
Snacking – Guilty Pleasure Book
I don’t have an answer to this question because I’ve learned not to feel guilty about what I read. A few years ago, I may have had an answer to this question, but not anymore. I love books, I have my favourite genres, I’m constantly talking about what I’m reading, and I’m not ashamed of any of it.
Netflix – Series You Want to Start
I really want to start The Folk of the Air series. I started reading The Cruel Prince last year, but I wasn’t in the mood for fantasy, so I don’t count that as starting the series. I picked The Cruel Prince for one of my O.W.L.s classes this month, so if I want to be a culinary sorcerer, I’ll be picking this series up soon.
Deep Clean – Been on Your TBR for Ages
My TBR is out of control, and there are so many books that have been sitting on my shelves unread. Last Sunday, I posted about six of these books, but there are dozens more that didn’t make that list. One of these books is Carry On by Rainbow Rowell, I loved Fangirl, and I’m interested in the story, but I just haven’t gotten to it yet.
Animal Crossing – A Book You Recently Bought Because of Hype
The first book that came to mind for this question was Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert. I’ve seen this book posted all over bookstagram, and I’ve heard some great things about it. I don’t think I’ll get to it this month, because I need to focus on my O.W.L.s and my ARC list, but I’m hoping to read it sometime in May.
Productivity – Book You Learned from or Had an Impact on You
A recent book that I learned from was The Forgotten Home Child by Genevieve Graham. This book is about a group of home children, and all the hardships they endured while growing up in Britain and then eventually in Canada. Before reading this book, I had no idea that this happened, and I’m glad it opened my eyes to this dark period in Canadian history.
Facetime – A Book You Were Gifted
After reading The Unhoneymooners last year, I told my friends that I wanted to read more Christina Lauren books. My friends listened, and for Christmas, my boyfriend bought me Twice in a Blue Moon, and Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating and my best friend bought me Autoboyography.
Self Care – What is One Thing You Have Done Recently to Look After Yourself
There’s a lot of things that I can list here, but the biggest one is cutting back on non-bookish social media and limiting the amount of news I watch and read. Everything that’s going on right now is scary, and I can’t keep reading about what’s going on out there, because all it does is make me anxious. I’m staying home and keeping myself occupied with my hobbies and my cat, and I’m trying to stay positive.
BONUS – Name a Book Coming Out Soon
I have a calendar of new releases that I’m looking forward to, but one book that stands out right now is By the Book by Amanda Sellet. The premise of this book sounds fantastic, and I am absolutely in love with the cover. It comes out on May 12th, and I can’t wait to dive into it once it arrives on my doorstep.
Loved reading this haha!
