First Line Friday – Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

First Line Friday Banner

Hello Everyone!

First Line Friday is a bookish meme hosted by Hoarding Books where you post the first line of a book.

This month I’m participating in the O.W.L.s magical readathon and one of my class requirements is reading a book under 150 pages. For this class, I decided to reread Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and that’s where today’s first line comes from.

The First Line(s)

“Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, ‘and what is the use of a book,’ thought Alice, ‘without pictures or conversations?’”
