Hello everyone!
Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Bionic Bookworm! If you’re interested in participating, check out her wonderful blog to get the details and the prompts for each week!
This week’s Top 5 Tuesday theme is series that I want to start, and oh my God, there are so many! I recently organized my books, and it opened my eyes to how many series are on my TBR. I decided to include some duologies on this list (does a duology count as a series?) because they’re at the top of my list of series that I want to read.
Heart of Iron by Ashley Poston: This series is at the top of my list of series that I want to start because I love Ashley Poston. The Once Upon a Con series is one of my favourites, and I want to dive into this sci-fi universe that Ashley Poston created. This book is a retelling of Anastasia, which makes me even more excited to dive into this book because Anastasia is a great story.
Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor: There are two main reasons why I want to read this series. The first reason is that it features a young librarian and a lost city, which sounds awesome. The second reason is that so many people love this series, and I want to understand the hype. I also happen to love the cover of this book, which makes me excited to pick it up at some point.
The Aurora Cycle by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff: Last year, I listened to the Illuminae Files, and I loved everything about it. Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff make an amazing writing pair, and I can’t wait to dive into their newest sci-fi adventure. I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to read or listen to this series, but I’m leaning towards listening to it because listening to the Illuminae Files was a great experience.
Miss Marple by Agatha Christie: I’m a little surprised that I haven’t started this series yet, especially because I’ve read a lot of Agatha Christie. Last year, Book Outlet had a ton of Agatha Christie books, and I made it my mission to own all the Poirot books because I love the little Belgian detective. Once I’m done with Poirot, I’m planning on diving into all the Miss Marple books, because eventually, I want to read all of her mysteries.
Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella: The reason why I want to start this series is that it sounds like a lot of fun. I also want to start this series because I’ve been reading more “chick-lit” (ugh, I hate that term) lately, and this series falls into that category. I’ve also heard that this series is laugh-out-loud funny, and I love books that make me laugh.
How about you? Have you read any of these series? What series do you want to start? Let me know in the comments!
I hope you love Strange the Dreamer! It was such a well written, magical story!
Thank you! I’m looking forward to reading it! 💜
Great picks! I’ve read Confessions of a Shopaholic, but I never read the whole series. Muse of Nightmares is on my bookshelf waiting on me to finish that series. I really want to read the Aurora Cycle. Hopefully soon. I hope you get to and enjoy all of these!
Thank you! I hope you enjoy Muse of Nightmares and Aurora Cycle when you get to them! 💜
I was hesitant to read Strange the Dreamer, but I ended up loving it! I hope you enjoy the series as well! 🙂 I have yet to finish the Illuminae Files series, but I would also like to start Aurora Rising soon after I finish!
I’ve also been thinking about reading some Agatha Christie books. Which one is your favorite so far?
I really enjoyed And Then There Were None, it’s a stand-alone book. For the Poirot books, so far my favourites have been The Murder of Roger Ackroyd and Murder on the Orient Express! 💜
I’ve read Strange the Dreamer and it was amazing. So magical and heartbreaking. I’m reading the second in the series now .)
I’m glad you’re enjoying it! I hope I can get to it soon!
I highly recommend Confessions of a Shopalic! I ate them up when I was a teenager and totally loved them!
Yay! I’m looking forward to reading them! 💜
Great list!
My post!
Thanks!
I love the Miss Marple series! A Murder Is Announced was the first one I read, and it still amazes me how clever Agatha Christie’s writing is.
I’ve read so many Agatha Christie books and I’m always amazed by how clever she is! She really is the Queen of Crime!
She is! My favourite thing about her stories (both Poirot and Marple, and even the independent ones) is that you get a massive clue near the beginning who the baddie is, but it’s so innocent you don’t really pay it any attention until you get to the end and it suddenly makes sense.
Yes! I love how all of the little things come together at the end 💜
Do you have a favourite?
I really like The Murder of Roger Ackroyd and Murder on the Orient Express. How about you?
My favourite Marple one is A Murder Is Announced, though my number one has to be And Then There Were None

I’m obsessed with the Shopaholic series!! It’s so good!
Yay! It looks like such a fun series!
Aurora Rising is amazing and Shopaholic so much fun!
Yay! I’m looking forward to reading something fun!
I really want to read Heart of Iron and Aurora Cycle too! I read Strange the Dreamer but I don’t think I really understood it so may need to do a reread before attempting Muse of Nightmares! 😂
Both Heart of Iron and Aurora Cycle sound so good! I hope you enjoy them!
Same about Strange the Dreamer!! I LOVE Laini Taylor’s style, so I don’t know why I haven’t read that one yet! ❤️✨
I haven’t read any of her books yet, but I’m looking forward to Strange the Dreamer
I’ve wanted to start Aurora Cycle but I’m not much for sci-fi books and have been hesitant
I’m normally not a huge sci-fi fan, but I loved Illuminae, so I’m hoping that I’ll also enjoy Aurora Cycle
I’m so excited about Aurora Burning – I loved the audiobook of Aurora Rising last year, and I can’t wait to get back into the series.
I’m hoping I can get to the audiobooks soon!
Wonderful list! The Shopaholic series absolutely awesome!
