#SixforSunday – Series I Want to Continue

Six for Sunday Series I Want to Continue Banner

Hello Everyone!

#SixforSunday is hosted by A Little But A Lot, and each week, there’s a different prompt, and you list six books that fit the prompt. The theme for May is Showing Some Series Love.

This week’s #SixforSunday prompt is supposed to be Heart-Wrenching Endings to Series, but I’m so bad at reading series, and I can’t think of any series that fit the topic. Since I still wanted to participate, I made my own topic, and today I’m going to talk about six series that I want to continue instead.

img_1481Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas: When I read The Assassin’s Blade and Throne of Glass a couple of years ago, I really enjoyed them. I loved the stories in The Assassin’s Blade, and I’m glad I picked it up first because it helped me understand Celaena. I was planning on picking up Crown of Midnight shortly after finishing Throne of Glass, but I got distracted, and now it’s sitting unread on my shelf. I hope that I can get to the rest of this series before the end of the year, because so many people love it, and I know that I’ll love it too.

img_1479Alex and Eliza by Melissa de la Cruz: I read Alex & Eliza in February, and even though I was disappointed by it, I still want to read the rest of the trilogy. My friend and I were planning on reading Love & War in March for our book club, but we had to put that on hold with everything else going on in the world. We’re hoping that we’ll be able to resume our book club in the summer, and then I’ll dive into Love and War and hopefully finish the trilogy.

img_1480The Folk of the Air by Holly Black: I read The Cruel Prince in April, and I still don’t know why I put off reading this series for so long. The Wicked King and The Queen of Nothing are on my May TBR, and at the very least, I’m hoping to get to The Wicked King this month. I’ve heard a lot of people say that they didn’t like The Queen of Nothing that much, so I’m a bit nervous about that one, but I really want to know what happens in this series and how it ends.

img_1477Caraval by Stephanie Garber: I read Caraval shortly after it came out, and I liked it enough to want to read the rest of the trilogy. When the second book came out, I decided that I would wait until the third book was out and then start the series from the beginning again. Finale came out last year, and I still haven’t gotten around to rereading Caraval or reading Legendary yet, but I know that I want to read these books at some point.

img_1478Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer: Of all the series on this list, this is the one I’m least likely to finish. I’ve read Cinder and Scarlet, and I enjoyed them, but I’ve had Cress and Winter sitting unread on my shelf for years now. I want to know how the series ends, and I want to read Cress because so many people love that book, but I don’t know when I’ll read it. I also know that I’m not too eager to pick it up right now, because it involves a global pandemic, and that hits a little bit too close to home right now.

img_1476Chief Inspector Armand Gamache by Louise Penny: I absolutely love everything about the Inspector Gamache books by Louise Penny. I love the town of Three Pines, I love Inspector Gamache, and I love all the side characters. I’ve read three of the books in this series so far, and they’ve been delightful. I’m looking forward to picking up the rest of the books, probably in the Winter, and returning to the cozy village of Three Pines.

How about you? What are some series that you want to continue? Have you read any of the series I talked about today?

  1. So many good ones! I especially love the Throne of Glass series, because the plot is just so good. You’ll never guess where it’ll go!

  2. OMG Cress is so good! The final 2 books are the best in that series in my opinion. Also, the global pandemic plays a lesser role in Cress. I mean, it’s still present, but this book is more about Cress’ character development and less about the pandemic. It’s less present.

And Legendary is so good too! As well as the entire Throne of glass series and The Wicked King. My favorite book in the Folk of the air series.

  3. I hope you get to continue all of these soon! Especially Caraval, i love that series!

  4. oh boy “hide behind my pillow” am sooooooo guilty of starting a series and never finishing it T.T and even though i made it a point to actually finish of my series…. all i’ve been doing is starting NEW ones instead.
SO yeah out of the one you have i only read the Folk of air and even though i read the wicked king as soon as it got released, i wasn’t ready to read queen of nothing even if am dying to know how it will all ends…. am not ready to say goodbye T.T

    • There are just so many amazing sounding series though! You want to read them all, and then it’s overwhelming and suddenly you have dozens of partly read series laying around 🙈

      • exactly and it’s even worse if you fall in love with a series so much that you don’t want to read the last book T.T
