Hello Everyone!

#SixforSunday is hosted by A Little But A Lot, and each week, there’s a different prompt, and you list six books that fit the prompt. The theme for May is Showing Some Series Love.

This week’s #SixforSunday prompt is Favourite Characters from Series. The most difficult part of drafting this post was picking just one character from each series that I love. I’m one of those people who is very character-driven when I read, and I get attached to characters easily. I love great characters, and I like it when series feature great characters because I love watching them grow and evolve throughout all of the books.

img_1886Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling: It’s hard to make a list of favourite characters from series without including someone from Harry Potter. For me, Luna Lovegood is my favourite character in the Wizarding World. I like that she is different, quirky, and caring. I also like that she wasn’t part of the “golden trio” because, in my opinion, the “silver trio” (Neville, Ginny, and Luna) are just as important as Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

img_1887Stevie Bell from Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson: It shouldn’t surprise anyone that I’m including Stevie on my list, because I adore the Truly Devious books. I like Stevie’s drive, passion, determination, and curiosity. I loved reading about her trying to solve the Ellingham Mystery and her relationship with her friends at Ellingham Academy.

img_1885Hanna Donnelly from The Illuminae Files by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff: I listened to the Illuminae Files last summer, and I loved all of the main characters in the series. I especially liked Hanna because she is such a badass. I loved her banter with Nik, I loved how stubborn she was, and she made the book even more enjoyable.

img_1888Angus McLintock from The Best Laid Plans by Terry Fallis: The Best Laid Plans is one of my favourite books, and Angus is one of my favourite characters. I loved the lengths that he was willing to go to avoid teaching English to Engineering students, and I loved every aspect of his political campaign. I also think that if more politicians were like him, the world would be a much better place. I’m also super excited because it was announced that a third Angus book is being released, and I can’t wait to read it.

img_1889Arthur Dent from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams: In my opinion, Arthur Dent is one of the most loveable characters I have ever come across. He just can’t get the hang of Thursdays, and he’s such a reluctant adventurer. One of my favourite things about him is his desire to find a good cup of tea on the spaceship, and I can relate to his frustration when he’s struggling to get one.

img_1890Hercule Poirot from The Hercule Poirot Mysteries by Agatha Christie: Last, but certainly not least, is everyone’s favourite Belgian detective. I love this strange little man, and reading his mysteries have brought me immense amounts of joy. I love his enthusiasm, his quirks, and his flair for the dramatic when he’s presenting his case.

How about you? Who are some of your favourite characters from a series?
