Hello Everyone!

How is everyone doing today? I spent most of last week cleaning up my backyard, and I’m currently sitting in the sunshine while I draft this wrap-up post.

I took a social media break the past few days because of everything that’s going on in the world right now. I’m hoping that this week I can respond to everyone’s comments, check out new posts, and follow back people. I’m also hoping that I can get my blog posting and bookstagram posting back on schedule in the upcoming days so that it can be smooth sailing for the rest of the month.

May was on track to be my best reading month yet, but then I slacked off during the last week of May. I’m still incredibly happy with how much I read, and I’m proud to say that I made it to the Empress level of Medieval-A-Thon. Overall, I read 8 books in May, some of them were great, and others were not so great. Below is a quick recap of everything I read in May.

The Life and (Medieval) Times of Kit Sweetly by Jamie Pacton: I received an ARC of this book through Net Galley, and I enjoyed it so much that I immediately ordered a finished copy once I finished reading it. Of Literature and Lattes by Katherine Reay: I received an ARC of this book through Net Galley, and it was alright. This book was cute, but it had a lot going on in it. If you’re interested, you can read my review here. I rated this book 3.5 stars.

The Trouble with Hating You by Sajni Patel: I received an ARC of this book through Net Galley, and I’m grateful that I got to read this book because it was amazing. I loved this enemies-to-lovers romance, and I thought the characters were fantastic. If you’re interested, you can read my review here. I rated this book 4 stars.

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell: I wasn’t planning on reading this book in May, but then an opportunity came up to buddy read it during the Medieval-A-Thon, and I jumped on it. I’m really glad that I finally read this one, and even though it wasn’t amazing, it was still enjoyable to read. I rated this book 3.5 stars.

Real Men Knit by Kwana Jackson: I received an ARC of this book through Edelweiss, and it was my disappointing read of the year so far. I was looking forward to reading this book because the premise sounded promising, but the pacing was off, and I didn’t like the relationship between the two main characters. Catalyst by Tracy Richardson: I was part of the blog tour hosted by The Write Reads for this book, and I’m grateful that I had the opportunity to read this book. This book wasn’t my cup of tea, but it was entertaining, and I liked the message that the author was trying to give. If you’re interested, you can read my review here. I rated this book 3 stars.

I Have a Hunch by Jeremy Decoursey: I received a copy of this book through Book Sirens, and it was a fun middle-grade mystery. This book was full of wordplay, and I thought it made the mystery unique and fun. If you’re interested, you can read my review here. I rated this book 3.5 stars.

You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle: I’m so glad that I picked up this book because it was fantastic! I didn’t know that I needed the lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers trope in my life, but my life feels more complete after reading this book. If you’re interested, you can read my review here. In other wrap-up news, May was a great month for my blog. I received a record number of views, visitors, likes, and comments, and I am incredibly grateful for everyone who took the time to check out my blog this month. I’m looking forward to posting regularly in June, interacting with all of you, and making new bookish friends in this community!
