Hello everyone!

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme created by Bionic Bookworm, and it’s now hosted by Meeghan Reads. If you’re interested in participating, check out their wonderful blog to get the details and the prompts for each week!

This week’s Top 5 Tuesday topic is Top 5 Anticipated Books for 2021. Last week for 5 On My TBR, I talked about some of my most anticipated romance releases for 2021, and today I’m going to focus on some upcoming YA releases that I’m looking forward to.

Hot British Boyfriend by Kristy Boyce (February 9, 2021) – I heard about this book when I attended the HCC Frenzy Winter 2021 event, and I immediately fell in love with it. This book sounds absolutely delightful. It features a girl who goes to England to study abroad and a whirlwind romance. I also love the cover of this book, and I think that giant teacups should be featured more often in cover art.

Perfect on Paper by Sophie Gonzales (March 9, 2021) – When I saw that Sophie Gonzales had a book coming out in 2021, it immediately jumped onto my TBR because I adored Only Mostly Devastated. The main character in this book runs a secret relationship advice service, and she’s being blackmailed by an annoyingly hot guy who needs help winning his ex-girlfriend back. This book sounds like a lot of fun, and hopefully, it’s as cute as Only Mostly Devastated.

Pride and Premeditation by Tirzah Price (April 6, 2021) – This is another book that I heard about when I attended the HCC Frenzy Winter 2021 preview event. This book is a murder mystery retelling of Pride and Prejudice, and I need it in my life. Even though I haven’t read Pride and Prejudice yet, I’m familiar enough with the characters to hopefully be able to appreciate the references in this book. I’m also excited about this retelling because I love murder mysteries, and I need more YA mysteries on my shelves. I’m also in love with the cover of this book and I hope the rest of the series has matching covers!

Witches Steeped in Gold by Ciannon Smart (April 20, 2021) – I have a mixed relationship with YA Fantasy, but as soon as I heard about this book at the HCC Frenzy Winter Preview event, I knew I needed to read it. Firstly, the cover of this book is stunning. Secondly, this book’s premise makes it sound like this is the type of book that’s hard to put down. Thirdly, I’ve only heard good things about this book. I tend to struggle with YA fantasy books, but I think this book will be an exception, and I’m impatiently waiting for it to be released.

Lucky Girl by Jamie Pacton (May 11, 2021) The Life and (Medieval) Times of Kit Sweetly was one of my favourite books of 2020, and I am very excited to read Jamie Pacton’s sophomore novel. This book is about an underaged girl who wins the lottery jackpot, and she doesn’t know what to do. All of her options are terrible, and as time passes, she starts to wonder if winning the lottery is actually a bad thing. This book’s premise sounds fairly unique to me, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds.
