#SixforSunday – Books I Wish I’d Read in 2020

Six for Sunday Wish I Read in 2020 Banner

Hello Everyone!

#SixforSunday is hosted by A Little But A Lot, and each week, there’s a different prompt, and you list six books that fit the prompt. The theme for January is It’s All About Books!

This week’s prompt is Books You Wish You’d Read in 2020! There were a lot of books that I was hoping to get to in 2020, but I didn’t get around to them because life got in the way. To narrow this list down to six, I decided to only focus on 2020 Young Adult releases.

Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas – When this book came out, I planned to dive into it right away. I don’t really know what happened, but it got pushed to my Halloween TBR, and here we are in January, and it’s still unread. Fortunately, I have plans to buddy read this book in February with some amazing people, and I can finally check it off my TBR.

Verona Comics by Jennifer Dugan – I enjoyed reading Hot Dog Girl in 2019, and Verona Comics was one of my more anticipated reads of 2020. Unfortunately, this is one of the many books that kept getting pushed back and ultimately never picked up in 2020. Fortunately, I have plans to read this book in February so that it won’t be on my TBR for much longer.

You Should See Me in a Crown by Leah Johnson – This book sounds like such a cute story, and I thought it would be the perfect feel-good story for 2020. Unfortunately, like the other books on this list, I didn’t get to it in 2020. I don’t know when I’ll read this book in 2021, but I’m determined to get to it in 2021.

Charming as a Verb by Ben Philippe The Field Guide to the North American Teenager was one of my favourite debuts of 2019, and I was looking forward to reading this book when it came out. Unfortunately, this book came out at the height of my reading slump, and I didn’t even think about picking it up last year. Like the rest of the books on this list, I’m going to try to fit it in somewhere in 2021.

Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender – This book sounds fantastic, and I’m disappointed that I didn’t get to it in 2020. The plan was to pick this up after reading This Is Kind of An Epic Love Story, but I didn’t love This Is Kind of An Epic Love Story, and I lost my motivation to read Felix Ever After. I’m still excited to read Felix Ever After, and hopefully, I’ll fit it in this year.

By the Book by Amanda SelletI was excited for this debut novel in 2020 because I absolutely adore the cover and synopsis. This book was another victim of my reading slump, and I’m determined to add it to one of my monthly TBRs this year, or else this book might go unread.
