Today is Thursday, which means it’s tag day! This week I’m doing the What Cats Do book tag! I saw this tag on Zezee with Books, and since I am a cat lady, I decided it would be the perfect tag to do this week. This tag was created by Melting Pots and Other Calamities.
Purr – As Cats Do This When They’re Happy or Relaxed, What Is the Book That Makes You Happiest or Relaxed?
I don’t have a specific book for this question, but generally speaking, romantic comedies with happily ever afters make me happy and fill my heart with joy.
Sleep – What Is A Book That Put You to Sleep or Was Just Boring?
The last book that I couldn’t get into was Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier. This book was a buddy read with the TWR gang, but I gave up on the book after our first discussion because I was bored and wasn’t enjoying it.
Twitch While Dreaming – Have You Ever Dreamt of a Book You Read?
I’m sure I have, but I can’t think of a specific book that I’ve dreamt about. I usually don’t remember my dreams, and lately, the dreams I remember have been weird anxiety dreams about unexpected company and spotty glassware or dust.
Seems to Play Nice…Until the Claws Are Out – Which Book Had the Biggest Plot Twist(s)?
This isn’t the biggest plot twist, but The Cousins by Karen McManus is a recent read with lots of plot twists.
Cuddles – Which Book Character Would You Give A Hug To?
I am not much of a hugger, but the list of fictional characters I would hug is endless. Between all the characters I’ve fallen in love with in romance novels, the characters who seem like they really need a hug, and the characters who I want to be best friends with, I have lots of fictional hugs to hand out.
Catnip – What’s A Book That Made You Have Warm and Fuzzy Feels?
My most recent warm and fuzzy feeling read was In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren. I love books with happily ever afters, and this book did not disappoint on that front.
Cat Breeds – What Are Your Favorite Books?
For the sake of keeping this post under 1000 words, I’ll only pick five books for this question:
The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
Amari and the Night Brothers by B.B. Alston
Geekerella by Ashley Poston.
Getting the Cat – How Did You Find Your Favorite Book(s)?
Once again, for the sake of keeping this post under 1000 words, I’ll only talk about the five books I listed in the previous question. I discovered The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy in high school when my brother lent me his copy. I discovered The Hating Game, You Deserve Each Other, and Geekerella through Bookstagram and the blogging community. Finally, I discovered Amari and the Night Brothers through the blog tour hosted by The Write Reads that I participated in last December.
The Vet’s Office – Your Least Favorite Book:
I don’t think I have a least favourite book. There have been some books that I really didn’t like, but I don’t think I can single out a specific book as my least favourite.
Being in Places They Shouldn’t – Least Favorite Cliché:
Lately, I haven’t been a fan of the absent parent/guardian trope in YA novels. I don’t expect the parent(s)/guardians to play a big role in YA books, but I would like some acknowledgement of their existence or why they aren’t around. It also drives me crazy when they’re conveniently absent the entire book and then appear and are in shock that terrible things happened while they were away.
Final Question: The Good Old Cardboard Box- Most Underrated Book Series:
I am the worst when it comes to reading series, so picking the most underrated series is almost impossible for me to do. One series that I want to read that seems to be underrated is the Iskari series by Kristen Ciccarelli because it has dragons, and I need more dragons in my life.
And anyone else who wants to join in!
