Hello everyone!
Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme created by Bionic Bookworm, and it’s now hosted by Meeghan Reads. If you’re interested in participating, check out their wonderful blog to get the details and the prompts for each week!
This week’s Top 5 Tuesday topic is series I want to start! I tend to put off reading series because I’m terrible at reading them. Even if I love the first book, I tend to procrastinate picking up the next book, and then I forget everything that happened in the first book and have to start over again. That being said, I have a lot of series on my TBR and here are five that I want to start.
Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch – This is the series that I’m most excited to start, and I happen to have plans to start it very soon. Rivers of London is an urban fantasy mystery series that features Constable Peter Grant and Detective Chief Inspector Thomas Nightingale. Everything about this series sounds fantastic, I’ve heard countless good things about it, and I am so excited to start buddy reading it with part of the TWR gang.
Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco – This is one of those series that I’ve seen everywhere, and I am very curious about. I’ve heard a lot of great things about the main characters, Audrey and Thomas, and I like the idea of a historical fiction mystery series. I had been putting off buying the first book in this series, but I was fortunate enough to receive a copy of the first book from a secret Santa at Christmastime, and I might give this series a try soon.
Moose Springs, Alaska by Sarah Morgenthaler – This is one of the many romance series on my neverending TBR. The first book in this series is called The Tourist Attraction, and all I know about it is that it features a sunshiny character and a grumpy character, which is one of the best combinations. I’m also looking forward to reading this series because it takes place in Alaska, and that’s a place that I’d like to visit one day.
The Vanderbeekers by Karina Yan Glaser – I’ve been curious about this middle-grade series since I saw the cover of the first book a few years ago. I don’t know much about this series, but I know that it is very popular and has great reviews. Based on the description, it looks like it features plenty of hijinks, and I need more hijinks in my life.
A Pinch of Magic by Michelle Harrison – In 2020, I realized that middle-grade fantasy is my favourite type of fantasy novel. This realization has been very dangerous for my TBR, and I keep adding new middle-grade books to my Goodreads list. I love the cover of the books in this series, and I think it looks very magical. I also love the idea of the characters going on a quest to break a curse, and I think this book sounds like a lot of fun.
Ooh I love Stlking Jack the Ripper! I hope you will as well!
