Hello Everyone!

Today’s my stop on the Ultimate Blog Tour hosted by the wonderful The Write Reads for Shards of Earth by Adrian Tchaikovsky. Thank you to Tor for providing me with an advanced copy of this book through Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

I started reading this book earlier in the week, and I am in love with everything I’ve read so far. However, I haven’t finished the book yet, and I’ll have a full review up sometime this week for this fantastic science fiction book!

Shards CoverAbout the Book (From Goodreads): The war is over. Its heroes forgotten. Until one chance discovery . . .

Idris has neither aged nor slept since they remade him in the war. And one of humanity’s heroes now scrapes by on a freelance salvage vessel, to avoid the attention of greater powers.

After earth was destroyed, mankind created a fighting elite to save their species, enhanced humans such as Idris. In the silence of space they could communicate, mind-to-mind, with the enemy. Then their alien aggressors, the Architects, simply disappeared—and Idris and his kind became obsolete.

Now, fifty years later, Idris and his crew have discovered something strange abandoned in space. It’s clearly the work of the Architects—but are they returning? And if so, why? Hunted by gangsters, cults and governments, Idris and his crew race across the galaxy hunting for answers. For they now possess something of incalculable value, that many would kill to obtain.

Thoughts So Far: This is one of those books where since I started it, I’ve been wanting to drop everything to keep reading it. Unfortunately, work had the audacity to be busy this week, so I couldn’t sneak in as many pages as I wanted to.

From what I’ve read so far, I am in love with this book. The prologue did a fantastic job setting the stage for the book, and it made me want to stay up way too late reading. I love the characters that I’ve met so far, and I’m looking forward to seeing how they develop.

I’m hoping to spend most of the weekend sitting in the sunshine, reading this book, because I need to know how the rest of the story unfolds.
