July TBR Tackle Challenge TBR

July 2021 Banner

Hello Everyone!

How is everyone doing today? Am I the only one in shock that it’s already July and that we made it to the second half of 2021? Even though I haven’t managed to stick to a monthly TBR this year, I’m back with what I’m hoping to read for the July TBR Tackle Challenge prompts! The TBR Tackle Challenge is a monthly reading challenge that I co-host with the very lovely mystorynook and theartsy_bookworm88 over on Instagram, and the goal is to tackle your TBR and read books you own. If you want to join the challenge, check us out on Instagram for all the details!

July Prompts

Here’s what I’m hoping to read for the July prompts!

Pastel Cover – Mosquitoland by David Arnold – This book has been on my TBR for a few months now, but I’m determined to read it soon because it’s been sitting unread on my shelves for at least five years.

Mosquitoland

Historical Fiction – Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid – This book was one of my most anticipated 2021 releases, and mystorynook and I decided to make it our July buddy read! I adored The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Daisy Jones and the Six, and I’m hoping that I like Malibu Rising just as much.

Water on the Cover Gargantis by Thomas Taylor – Last month, I read Malamander by Thomas Taylor with the Middle-Grade Marvels book club, and I loved it! I loved the characters, the setting, and the action and adventure, and I cannot wait to return to Eerie-on-Sea to see what Herbie and Violet get into next.

Three Word Title – The Princess Bride by William Goldman – This is one of my many July buddy reads, and I think it’s the buddy read that I’m most excited to participate in. I know about The Princess Bride because I spend too much time on the Internet, and the memes are everywhere, but I haven’t watched the movie or read the book before, so I’m going into it blind. I’m hoping that I love this book, and I’m looking forward to finally watching the movie at the end of the month.

Hardcover – The Box in the Woods by Maureen Johnson – The gang from Truly Devious is one of my favourite fictional groups of friends, and I am so excited to see them together again on another crime-solving adventure. I’m hoping I can find a free day sometime soon to curl up with a bunch of snacks and binge this book in one sitting because I know that anyone who interrupts me while reading this book will suffer.

The Box in the Woods

On top of these books, I have a handful of other books that I want to read in July, including the ongoing buddy reads of the Rivers of London books and the Hercule Poirot books, and the July Middle-Grade Marvels pick!

How about you? What are you hoping to read in July?
