Hello everyone!

This week’s Top Five Tuesday topic is Hyped Books I Loved, which was a bit of a struggle to draft because I’m not very good at reading hyped books in a timely fashion. I have tons of hyped books on my TBR, but they tend to sit unread for an embarrassingly long time, especially when it comes to popular YA fantasy series. Fortunately, I was able to think of enough hyped books that I loved to draft this post.

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne – This is one of my favourite books, and it also happens to appear on almost every list of “must read romances.” This is the book that got me into reading romance, which is now one of my favourite genres. I love the characters, the story, the banter, and I’m so glad that I gave in to the hype and let this book into my life.

Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson – Truly Devious is one of my favourite series, and it deserves all of the hype it gets. It’s full of amazing characters, a mystery that plays out over the entire trilogy, and some killer cliffhangers between books. I adore Stevie Bell, and I can’t wait to read The Box in the Woods later this month; and I hope Maureen Johnson writes more books featuring Stevie and the gang so I can continue to fangirl over how much I love this series.

Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas – I read Cemetery Boys a few months ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the main characters, and I think they’re going to end up on one of my year-end wrap-up lists because they’re so memorable. I loved how many different layers this book had, and I’m very glad I read it because it is definitely worth the hype.

Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid – Daisy Jones and The Six is one of those books that sucked me in almost immediately. The formatting of this book is a bit different, but I loved it, and I thought that it made it very easy to get sucked into. This book was written in a way that made the band seem real, and I often had to remind myself that Daisy Jones and The Six were fictional and their songs didn’t exist. After falling in love with this book and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, I think Taylor Jenkins Reid deserves all of the hype.

Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan – This book, and the trilogy in general, was so much fun. I loved the characters, the drama, and getting sucked into the world of the ultra-wealthy. I picked up this book because I wanted to watch the movie, and even though I still haven’t watched the movie, I will say that this franchise deserves the hype because it is so much fun.
