Four for Friday – Books with Pastel Covers

Hello Everyone!

Four for Friday is a weekly list post that I am attempting to get off the ground. It’s tied to the TBR Tackle Challenge, which I co-host over on Instagram with the very lovely mystorynook and theartsy_bookworm88. Every week there’s a prompt, and you pick four books that fit the theme. You can find all of the July topics here!

This week’s Four for Friday topic is Books with Pastel Covers! I love a pretty pastel cover, and this week I’m talking about four books with pastel covers that I’m hoping to read before the end of the year.

Second First Impressions by Sally Thorne – Even though The Hating Game is one of my favourite books, I still haven’t picked up anything else by Sally Thorne yet. I’m hoping to change that in the next few months when mystorynook and I buddy read Second First Impressions. What makes me most excited for this book is that it looks like it features a pair of old ladies who are troublemakers, and I’m hoping that that leads to some laugh-out-loud moments with their shenanigans.

Some Girls Do by Jennifer Dugan – Jennifer Dugan is not one of my favourite authors, but I enjoy her books enough that I always want to read her latest book. Some Girls Do came out earlier this year, and it’s one of my favourite covers of the year so far. I don’t know much about this book, but I’m looking forward to meeting the characters in it and rooting for them to make things work out despite the odds being against them.

The Cactus by Sarah Haywood – This book has been on my TBR for such a long time, and I’m hoping that I have time to read it soon. I don’t know much about this book, but I know that it’s about a character whose perfectly structured life has fallen apart, and I’m curious to see how everything plays out for that character. I also love the cover of this book, though I think I love the original North American hardcover cover more.

The Wisteria Society for Lady Scoundrels by India Holton – This book was an impulse purchase on my most recent trip to the bookstore last month. I hadn’t been in a bookstore since the beginning of 2020, and when I saw this stunning cover with a fascinating title sitting on the display table, it basically jumped into my arms and eventually came home with me. This historical romance features lady thieves, pirates, and assassins, which sounds like a lot of fun.

How about you? What are some of your favourite stunning hardcovers?
