Hello Everyone!
It’s a new year and a new month, which means it’s time for a new hopefuls list. Similar to last year, one of my goals for 2022 is to read a little bit every day, and I’m hoping that I can stay motivated enough to stick to this goal, so I can actually tackle my TBR this year.
This month’s hopefuls list is a mix of buddy reads and books that I picked for the January TBR Tackle Challenge prompts. If you’re looking to get your TBR under control this year, check out the TBR Tackle Challenge on Instagram because we have a lot of fun things planned to help with that goal.
Frostheart by Jamie Littler – Frostheart is the January pick for the Middle-Grade Marvels book club. The Middle-Grade Marvels book club is one of my favourite book clubs, it’s full of amazing people, and it has introduced me to so many amazing middle-grade books. I’m also using this book for the Turquoise Cover prompt for the TBR Tackle Challenge.
The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón – Last year, I decided to start a book club to give people that I knew who fall into the category of “I love to read, but I just don’t have time” an opportunity to maybe read a bit more than they would have otherwise. Our January pick is The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón. I’m also using this for the 500+ pages prompt for the TBR Tackle Challenge, even though it has just under 500 pages.
Revenge of the Beast by Jack Meggitt-Phillips – I am so excited to be part of the upcoming Ultimate Blog Tour hosted by The Write Reads for Revenge of the Beast. The Beast and the Bethany was one of my favourite books of 2020, and I cannot wait to see what the ghastly Beast gets up to in this book. I am also using this book for the TBR Tackle Challenge prompt of Title or Author that Starts with “J.”
The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood – I’ve been seeing this book everywhere, and I am looking forward to buddy reading it with my two former roommates from University this month! I am also using this book for the TBR Tackle Challenge prompt of New to You Author.
The A.B.C. Murders by Agatha Christie – Last year, some of the TWR gang on Twitter started to work their way through all of the Hercule Poirot books by Agatha Christie. This month, we’re reading The A.B.C. Murders, which is a reread for me, but I don’t remember much of what happened, so it should be like reading it for the first time again.
Lore Olympus by Rachel Smythe – The book is a buddy read with some of the TWR gang on Twitter. This is another book that I’ve seen everywhere, so I was super excited when it was picked for our buddy read of the month. I don’t know much about it, but I’m looking forward to diving into a graphic novel this month.
One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus – After loving The Cousins and You’ll Be the Death of Me, I decided to order Karen M. McManus’ other books. The first one I’m going to read is One of Us is Lying, which happens to fit in with the TBR Tackle Challenge prompt of Number in the Title.
