Top 5 Bookish Resolutions for 2022

T5T Banner Resolutions 2022

Hello everyone!

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme created by Bionic Bookworm, and it’s now hosted by Meeghan Reads. If you’re interested in participating, check out their wonderful blog to get the details and the prompts for each week!

This week’s Top Five Tuesday topic is Bookish Resolutions for 2022. I’ve been setting bookish resolutions for a few years now, and even though I’m not the best at keeping them, I do like setting them. Below are my five bookish resolutions for this year.

Read 52 Books – Last year, I set my reading goal at 52 books, and I read 69 books. I’m setting it to 52 again this year because I don’t like that Goodreads tends to shame people when they fall behind.

Blog and Bookstagram More Consistently – This is a goal that I set every year, and I’m hoping that I can stick with it this year. I don’t necessarily want to post every day, but I would like to post consistently instead of taking unexpected long hiatuses from posting.

Read More Middle Grade, Indie Authors, and Graphic Novels – This is my favourite bookish resolution for 2022. I really enjoy middle-grade books, and I want to focus on finding joy in 2022, and I think that reading more middle grade will help with that. Over the years, I’ve read a ton of phenomenal books written by indie authors, and I’m hoping to discover even more fantastic books this year. Finally, last year I read a handful of graphic novels, and I want to read more of them this year because it’s an enjoyable medium for telling stories.

Hit 80% on Net Galley – This goal might be the most difficult one to reach because my Net Galley backlist is a bit overwhelming. I’m hoping to cut back on the number of requests I make and focus on adding a few of the backlist books to my TBR each month.

Tackle The TBRLike most bookworms, my TBR is a little bit out of control. I’m still going to buy books and support authors, but I’m going to try to make a conscious effort to focus on my backlist and the books that have been sitting on my shelves for a long time.
