Hello Everyone!
I am so glad that it’s finally February! January was one of those months that seemed to drag on for far too long, and I am so glad that it’s over.
This month, I have an overly ambitious hopefuls list, and I’m not sure how successful I’m going to be at getting to all of the books on it. I’m dividing this post up into the books I’m picking for the TBR Tackle Challenge prompts and then listing off the other books I want to get to. If you’re looking to get your TBR under control this year, check out the TBR Tackle Challenge on Instagram, and if you’re curious about the February prompts, you can read my post about them here!
Pink Cover – The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary – This is the February book of the month for the book club that I host. This is a reread for me; I loved this book so much that I will gladly read it again. We’re not talking about this book until the first weekend of March, so I probably won’t get to this one for a few weeks. If you’re interested, you can purchase a copy of The Flatshare from Amazon* here.
Favourite Romance Trope – When You Get the Chance by Emma Lord – Emma Lord is one of my favourite YA authors, and I am so excited to dive into her most recent release as soon as possible. This book is Mamma Mia inspired, which sounds so fun. As far as tropes go, this book features rivals to lovers, which is one of my favourites. If you’re interested, you can purchase a copy of When You Get the Chance from Amazon* here.
Black Author – Happily Ever Afters by Elise Bryant – I’ve wanted to read Happily Ever Afters since I heard about it at an HCC Frenzy Preview event at the end of 2020. The premise of this book sounds super cute, and I’m looking forward to reading it this month. I started listening to this on audiobook at work this week, and I already love it. If you’re interested, you can purchase a copy of Happily Ever Afters from Amazon* here.
Reread – The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid – The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo made Taylor Jenkins Reid become an auto-buy author for me. This book was amazing, and I cannot recommend it enough. I’ve heard good things about the audiobook, and I’ve wanted to listen to it for a while now. When some of the TWR gang decided that they were going to buddy read it, I decided to join in so I can check out the audiobook. If you’re interested, you can purchase a copy of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo from Amazon* here.
Female Friendship – Secrets of the Stars by Maria Kuzniar – The Ship of Shadows was one of my favourite reads of 2020, and I have wanted to dive into this book since it was released last year. I love the crew on The Ship of Shadows, and I’m looking forward to checking in on them and seeing what they’re up to in this book.
Winterhouse by Ben Guterson – This is the February book of the month for the Middle-Grade Marvels book club. I don’t know much about this book, but I love the cover, and the Goodreads description mentions a mystery which makes me want to dive into it as soon as my copy arrives. If you’re interested, you can purchase a copy of Winterhouse from Amazon* here.
You’ve Reached Sam by Dustin Thao – This is the February book of the month for another one of the book clubs that I am in. This is one of those books that I’ve seen everywhere, but I don’t know very much about. Based on the description, it looks like it will be a tearjerker, so I’ll have to make sure I have comfort snacks nearby when I start this one. If you’re interested, you can purchase a copy of You’ve Reached Sam from Amazon* here.
Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie – Some of the TWR gang has been slowly working their way through all of the Hercule Poirot books by Agatha Christie, and this month we’re reading Death on the Nile. Technically, we aren’t quite at Death on the Nile, but we decided to skip ahead in honour of the upcoming movie. If you’re interested, you can purchase a copy of Death on the Nile from Amazon* here.
Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore – This is another book club book that I’m trying to fit in this month. I’ve wanted to read this one for a while, and I’m looking forward to knocking it off of my TBR this month. We’re talking about this book this upcoming Friday, so I should probably try to pick it up as soon as possible. If you’re interested, you can purchase a copy of Bringing Down the Duke from Amazon* here.
The Broken Heart of Arelium by Alex Robins – I’m reading this book for a blog tour that I’m participating in this month. I don’t know much about it, but I absolutely adore the cover, and I’m looking forward to the tour for it. If you’re interested, you can purchase a copy of The Broken Heart of Arelium from Amazon* here.
Shadow of a Dead God by Patrick Samphire – This is one of the BBNYA finalists that has a blog tour this month, and I am so excited to read this one. If I remember correctly, I read part of this book in the first or second round of BBNYA, and I’ve wanted to read the rest of it since then. This tour is near the end of the month, so keep an eye out for my review then. If you’re interested, you can purchase a copy of Shadow of a Dead God from Amazon* here.
Beneath Cruel Fathoms by Anela Deen – This is another one of the BBNYA finalists that has a blog tour this month. I don’t know much about this book, but the premise sounds interesting, the cover is stunning, and I’m looking forward to reading it. If you’re interested, you can purchase a copy of Beneath Cruel Fathoms from Amazon* here.
Tinker Tailor Soldier Chef by Philip Brady – This is another blog tour book that I’m reading this month. This sequel to Meal of Fortune looks like a lot of fun, and I’m sure it’s going to be an entertaining read! If you’re interested, you can purchase a copy of Tinker Tailor Soldier Chef from Amazon* here.
