Hello everyone!

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme created by Bionic Bookworm, and it’s now hosted by Meeghan Reads. If you’re interested in participating, check out their wonderful blog to get the details and the prompts for each week!

This week’s Top Five Tuesday topic is Books That Have Been on my TBR Since Forever. My physical TBR is out of control, and some books have been on there for years. The books I’m talking about today haven’t necessarily been on my TBR the longest, but I feel like they’ve been shaming me because I really should have gotten to them by now.

Emergency Contact by Mary H.K. Choi – This book has been on my TBR for such a long time. If I remember correctly, I think I purchased a copy shortly after it was released, and I still haven’t picked it up yet. I know it has been on my monthly TBR countless times, but it always gets knocked out of the way by other books. I also have a friend who has been telling me to read this book, but I still haven’t gotten to it yet.

Us Against You by Fredrik Backman Beartown was one of my favourite books that I read in 2018, and I was desperate to get my hands on the next book in the series. I preordered it, anxiously waited for it to arrive, and then I stuck it on my shelf and didn’t read it. I don’t remember why I didn’t read it right away; either I was busy or in a slump, but I know that I still haven’t picked it up yet. So at this point, I think I’m going to have to reread Beartown before I finally dive into Us Against You.

The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang – For someone who loves romance novels, you’d think that I would have found time to read The Kiss Quotient by now. I think this book has been sitting on my shelves since 2019, which is a long time considering how often this book pops up on “best romance” lists. This is another book that often ends up on my monthly TBR list but then gets shoved aside or forgotten about because there are just too many books.

99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne – I absolutely adored The Hating Game, and I wanted to dive into this book as soon as I got my hands on it. But, like with all of the other books on this list, that clearly didn’t happen. Currently, this yellow spined book is sitting next to The Kiss Quotient on my shelf, just judging me for not reading it yet.

Somewhere in France by Jennifer Robson – This book has been on my shelf for an embarrassingly long time, and I don’t know why I haven’t picked it up yet. This historical fiction novel sounds wonderful, and I’ve heard great things about it, but I still haven’t picked it up yet. I don’t know if it’s because I’m not always in the mood for historical fiction or if I’m just easily distracted by other books, but this book has definitely been hanging around for over five years now.

  1. Oh, the Kiss Quotient trilogy is AMAZING. I loved it so much (but also I cried A LOT too). But if I can only recommend one book on here, it’s Emergency Contact. It was one of my fave books the year it came out. I love it so much, I think I’m going to do a reread this year.
Hope you enjoy these when you get to them!! And I hope you had fun this week!! 💕
