Hello Everyone!
It’s almost March, which means it’s time for the March reading prompts for the TBR Tackle Challenge!
If you aren’t familiar with the TBR Tackle Challenge, it’s a reading challenge that I co-host with from.TBR.to.READ, theartsy_bookworm88, and hplreads. The goal of the challenge is to read the books that you already own and to “tackle your TBR.” Every month we post five prompts to help you decide what books to read from your TBR. You can find out more information on Instagram, and if you have any questions, please let me know!
Like February, March is a busy month as far as holidays and observances go. We wanted to acknowledge as many of these holidays and observances as possible with the prompts. We hope you have fun picking out books for them; make sure to tag us in any TBR posts.
Here are the March prompts!
Green, Purple, or Gold on the Cover
Since Mardi Gras falls on March 1st this year, we couldn’t pick just one colour for March. For this prompt, pick a book with some green, purple, or gold on the cover. It can have just one of these colours, or some combination of them. If there is some green, purple, or gold, you can use it for this prompt!
Female Main Character
International Women’s Day is on March 8th, and to celebrate, we want you to read a book featuring a female main character.
Lucky Character
St. Patrick’s Day made us think about four-leaf clovers, which made us think about luck. So, in honour of St. Patrick’s Day, read a book featuring a lucky character. This can be a character who has something really good happen to them, or maybe a character who is the chosen one or goes on a hero’s quest, or maybe even a character who gets lucky in the romantic sense. Be creative with this prompt!
First Book in a Series
The first day of Spring reminds us of new beginnings, which reminds us of all of the unread series sitting on our shelves. In honour of the first day of Spring, pick up the first book in a series (or trilogy, or duology) and start something new.
Retelling
There are so many fantastic books out there that are inspired by other stories, and we want you to add one of them to your TBR this month. This prompt is versatile because there are so many options, from books inspired by fairy tales or mythology or classic stories or theatre; we can’t wait to see what you pick!
If you have any questions about any of the prompts, let me know! Happy TBR Tackling!
