Red (Taylor’s Version) Book Tag

Red Banner

Hello Everyone!

Today is Thursday, which makes it the perfect day for a book tag. Today I’m doing the Red (Taylor’s Version) Book Tag, which I was tagged to do by Tiffany from Gazer of Books! Tiffany is also the creator of this fantastic tag, so you definitely need to check their blog out! Even though I’m not a huge Swiftie, when Red (Taylor’s Version) was released, I listened to it non-stop for an unhealthy amount of time. I don’t want to say that Taylor Swift made me break up with my boyfriend, but, Better Man, The Moment I Knew, and the 10 minute version of All Too Well may have swayed my decision. Anyway! I cannot wait for the next Taylor’s Version album release and here are the prompts for Red!

The Rules:

The Prompts:

State of Grace – A Painful Romantic Love

After a bit of thought, I’m going to pick Instructions for Dancing by Nicola Yoon for this question. However, I won’t go into any details about this answer because I want to avoid spoilers.

Red – A Book or Character That Makes You See RED

Frankly in Love by David Yoon still makes me incredibly angry. I did not enjoy this book, I felt like it was mis-marketed, and I despised the main character.

Treacherous – A Book You Couldn’t Help But Buy

I had to buy the Waterstones exclusive edition of Rainbow Grey by Laura Ellen Anderson. I don’t know much about what this book is about, but I needed the rainbow sprayed edges in my life.

I Knew You Were Trouble – A Book You Knew You Would Fall in Love With

I know I would fall in love with Frostheart by Jamie Littler. Between the amazing cover, the unique setting, and the promise of a grumpy yeti, it was love at first sight.

All Too Well – A Book That Brings About Nostalgia

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky usually makes me feel nostalgic because it was one of my favourite books in high school.

22 – Your Favourite Group of Friends

One of my favourite fictional groups of friends is the gang from Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson. I love Stevie Bell and the group of people she becomes friends with at Ellingham Academy in this series. I love reading about them

I Almost Do – A Messy Book Couple (You Love or Hate)

I don’t know if this counts, but the first couple I thought of was Nicholas and Naomi from You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle. They’re a bit of a mess, but they’re one of my favourite fictional couples.

We Are Never Getting Back Together- A Book or Series You Put Down and Decided to Never Read Again Like Ever

I was super excited for One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston, but after reading the first few chapters, I am definitely never ever ever, getting back together with it.

Stay Stay Stay – A Book That Makes You Inexplicably Happy

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne makes me very happy, especially the breakfast scene near the end.

The Last Time – A Book You Can’t Read Again Because It Will Hurt Too Much

I don’t think I can ever read Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston again. Not because this book was hurtful, but because I read it at the perfect moment, and I know that I won’t like it nearly as much the second time around.

Holy Ground – A Book Where You Need Another Like It

I need more middle-grade books like Winterhouse by Ben Guterson. I adored the characters in this book, and I loved the word puzzles in this book, and I definitely need more books like this in my life.

Sad Beautiful Tragic – A Sad, Beautiful Tragic Book

Lily and the Octopus by Steven Rowley is my go-to recommendation when someone is looking for books that will make them cry. I read this books years ago, but the thought of it still makes me sad.

The Lucky One – A Book Cover That You Think is Pretty

One of my favourite recent covers is Midnight in Everwood by M.A. Kuzniar. I just find this cover very magical and I love looking at it.

Everything Has Changed – Genre You Fell in Love With Instantly

Unsurprisingly, I fell in love with romance instantly!

Starlight – A Book Cover Dressed to the Nines

All of the Folio books are gorgeous, but I especially love the Winnie the Pooh books that they’ve released.

Begin Again – A Book You Hope Will Be a 5 Star Read

I really hope that Twice Shy by Sarah Hogle is a 5 star read. I adored You Deserve Each Other and I’m hoping Twice Shy is just as good.

The Moment I Knew – The One Book You Knew Would Make You Cry

I’m not very far into it yet, but I know that You’ve Reached Sam by Dustin Thao is going to make me cry. The premise is too much like P.S. I Love You and that movie made me bawl my eyes out.

Come Back… Be Here – Character You Want to Have Their Own Book Series

I don’t necessarily want Nash Hawthorne from The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes to have his own series, but I’d love it if we could get a novella told from his perspective.

State of Grace – A Painful Platonic Love

After way too much thought, I really don’t have an answer for this question.

Better Man – That One Character You Hate

No spoilers, but I absolutely despise Tom from The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood.

Nothing New – Favourite Female Character That is Unapologetic About Themselves

I adore Bethany from The Beast and the Bethany by Jack Meggitt-Phillips and I think she is definitely unapologetic about herself while also trying to be a better person.

Message in a Bottle – The One Book You Want EVERYBODY to Read

I would like everyone to read Amari and the Night Brothers by B.B. Alston. This book is amazing and I cannot wait for the second book.

I Bet You Think About Me – What’s That One Book That Makes People Think About You?

Based on my username, I think that it’s reasonable for people to think about me when they think about The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.

Forever Winter – A Book Featuring Mental Health

The first book that came to mind for this one was Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson.

Run – A Book You Can Reread and Never Bore of It

Not to repeat an answer, but I can reread The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams and never get tired of it.

The Very First Night – A Book You Wish You Can Reread As If It’s The Very First Time

I wish I could reread The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie as if it was the first time again. The twists in this book are so spectacular and I’d love to experience them again without knowing what happens.

All Too Well (10 Minute Version) – Longest Book You’ve Ever Read

According to Goodreads, the longest book I’ve read is Angels and Demons by Dan Brown.

Anyone who has listened to the 10-minute version of All Too Well more than 5 times!
