Hello Everyone!
It’s almost April, which means it’s time for the April reading prompts for the TBR Tackle Challenge!
If you aren’t familiar with the TBR Tackle Challenge, it’s a reading challenge that I co-host with from.TBR.to.READ, theartsy_bookworm88, and hplreads. The goal of the challenge is to read the books that you already own and to “tackle your TBR.” Every month we post five prompts to help you decide what books to read from your TBR. You can find out more information on Instagram, and if you have any questions, please let me know!
We had a lot of fun coming up with the prompts for this month and we hope you enjoy them! Make sure to tag us in any posts on Instagram so we can see what you’re reading.
Here are the April prompts!
Funny Book
April 1st is April Fool’s Day and in honour of this, we want you to read something funny. This could be a rom-com, a humour book, a book written by a famous funny person, or whatever kind of book you think will make you laugh.
Rainy Day Read
They say that April showers bring May flowers and we think this is the perfect opportunity to pick up a rainy day read. A rainy day read can be whatever you want it to be! Is there a book you’ve been putting off for a while? Do you want to escape to a magical world? Do you want something that will bring you joy while outside is grey? Be creative with this prompt!
Quest
This prompt is inspired by Easter egg hunts! Pick a book that involves a character going on a quest of some kind. It can be a quest of self-discovery, for love, to find something missing, to save the world, the options are endless!
Something Shiny on the Cover
April’s birthstone is a diamond and in honour of this, we want you to read a book with something shiny on the cover. The cover itself doesn’t necessarily have to be shiny, but there’s a picture of something on there that’s usually shiny, you can use it. Examples of shiny things include jewels and gemstones, weapons, utensils, mirrors, etc.
Second-Hand Books
April 22 is Earth Day! In honour of this, we want you to read a second-hand book. This can be a book you bought used, a book you borrowed from the library, or a book you borrowed from a friend.
If you have any questions about any of the prompts, let me know! Happy TBR Tackling!
