Hello everyone!

This week’s Top 5 Tuesday prompt is Top 5 Anticipated Reads for April to June 2022. I love researching anticipated reads posts because I always stumble upon something new to add to my TBR. It was difficult to narrow this post down to just five books because there are a lot of upcoming releases that I want to read ASAP.

Bluebird by Genevieve Graham (April 5, 2022) – Genevieve Graham is an author I want to read more of because I absolutely adored The Forgotten Home Child. I’m looking forward to Bluebird because part of it takes place in Windsor, Ontario, which is where I’m from and currently live. The premise of this book sounds interesting, going back and forth between present-day and the end of World War One while looking at the rumrunners. Genevieve Graham is a fantastic author, so I’m sure that it will be a struggle to put down once I pick this book up.

Skandar and the Unicorn Thief by A.F. Steadman (May 3, 2022) – I am so excited to read this middle-grade debut! It involves unicorns, and who doesn’t want to read about unicorns. This book promises epic sky battles, dangerous wild unicorns, and a villain who is up to no good. I was also fortunate enough to receive a surprise physical ARC of this book from Simon and Schuster Canada yesterday, and it was definitely the highlight of my week. I’m planning on diving into it ASAP.

Zachary Ying and the Dragon Emperor by Xiran Jay Zhao (May 10, 2022) – Middle-Grade books are quickly becoming my new obsession, and this upcoming release looks fantastic. I’ve heard great things about the author of this book, and I’m looking forward to reading one of their books. I’m also looking forward to learning a little bit about Chinese mythology when I read this one. The premise of this book sounds like a lot of fun, and I do love a good adventure story.

Something Wilder by Christina Lauren (May 17, 2022) – If you’re looking for romance, Christina Lauren rarely disappoints. This upcoming release features the second-chance romance trope, which is a trope that has been growing on me lately. I also like the idea of this book featuring a treasure hunting adventure because I definitely enjoy a good adventure. If this book is anything like the other Christina Lauren books I’ve read, I’m sure it will bring me a ton of joy when I read it.

Iona Iverson’s Rules for Commuting by Clare Pooley (June 7, 2022) – I enjoyed The Authenticity Project by Clare Pooley, and I’ve been looking forward to reading something new by her for a while now. The premise of this book sounds interesting, and it sounds like it will have the same kind of charm that The Authenticity Project had. Also, to avoid confusion, in some markets, this book is called The People on Platform 5.
