Hello Everyone!
Today is Thursday, which means it’s book tag day! Today I’m doing The Coffee Book Tag. I found this tag on Beneath a Thousand Skies and it looked like a lot of fun, even though I’m mostly a tea drinker. This tag was created by BangadyBangz on YouTube.
Now that I’ve poured myself a nice cup of tea, it’s time to start answering these questions!
Black: Name a series that’s tough to get into but has hardcore fans:
For this question, I’m going to go with the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. Fantasy usually isn’t my thing, so I knew this series would be a struggle for me. I managed to read The Assassin’s Blade and Throne of Glass, both of which were enjoyable, but I don’t know if I’m ever going to continue with the series.
If you’re interested, you can purchase a copy of Throne of Glass from Amazon* here.
Peppermint mocha: Name a book that gets more popular during the winter or a festive time of year:
Every year there are tons of cute-looking holiday romances that pop up and fill all of my social media feeds. Some titles that are popping into my head right now are In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren, The Holiday Swap by Maggie Knox, and Royal Holiday by Jasmine Guillory. If you’re interested, here’s my review of In a Holidaze.
If you’re interested, you can purchase a copy of In a Holidaze from Amazon* here, The Holiday Swap from Amazon* here, and Royal Holiday from Amazon* here.
Hot chocolate: What is your favourite children’s book?
This question is difficult because I’ve gotten really into Middle-Grade books in the past year or so and there are so many titles that I love. If I have to pick one though, it’s Amari and the Night Brothers by B.B. Alston. If you’re interested, here’s my review of Amari and the Night Brothers.
If you’re interested, you can purchase a copy of Amari and the Night Brothers from Amazon* here.
Double shot of espresso: Name a book that kept you on the edge of your seat from start to finish:
The first book I thought of for this was Dread Wood by Jennifer Killick. It might not have kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time, but it certainly kept me on my toes. If you’re interested, here’s my review of Dread Wood.

Starbucks: Name a book you see everywhere:
Right now, I’m seeing The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood everywhere. I haven’t fallen down the TikTok rabbit hole yet, but I see it all over Bookstagram and other social media sites. I read The Love Hypothesis earlier this year and I enjoyed it. If you’re interested, here’s my review of The Love Hypothesis.

That hipster coffee shop: Give a book by an indie author a shoutout:
But there are so many that I want to shout about! If I have to pick one, I’ll go with May Day by Josie Jaffrey, which was the winner of the 2021 BBNYA competition. I read May Day back in 2020 and I adored it. If you’re interested, here’s my review of May Day.
If you’re interested, you can purchase a copy of May Day from Amazon* here.
Oops! I accidentally got decaf: Name a book you were expecting more from:
Most recently, I was expecting more from Happy-Go-Lucky by David Sedaris. I like David Sedaris a lot, but I found this book, and A Carnival of Snackery, to not be as enjoyable as his previous works because I find that David Sedaris has been coming off as a bit too much of a self-centred, grumpy old man in his recent works. If you’re interested, here’s my review of Happy-Go-Lucky and here’s my review of A Carnival of Snackery.
If you’re interested, you can purchase a copy of Happy-Go-Lucky from Amazon* here.
The perfect blend: Name a book or series that was both bitter and sweet but ultimately satisfying
I think I can use The Forgotten Home Child by Genevieve Graham for this question. The book itself is heartbreaking, but it had its share of sweet moments, and it left me with a major book hangover. If you’re interested, here’s my review of The Forgotten Home Child.

That’s a good tag! I loved The Love Hypothesis! I haven’t read The Throne of Glass series yet. Just another one on my long to read list!
Have a great rest of the week!

Thank you! The TBR list really is never ending
It is! So many great new books coming out!
What a fun tag! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
I love this tag. I read Throne of Glass and the one after that but didn’t get any further. I only managed the first book of ACOTAR too so obviously not an author for me.
I also only read the first book of ACOTAR and I don’t think I’ll go any further 😅
