Hello Everyone!
How is everyone doing today? Today I’m bringing you a list of three of my most anticipated May releases. I don’t know when I’m going to read these three books, but I’m super excited about all of them!
Skandar and the Unicorn Thief by A. F. Steadman (May 3, 2022) – It should not surprise anyone that this book is on my list of anticipated May releases. This middle-grade book sounds fantastic, and I really need to dive into my ARC this week. Skandar and the Unicorn Thief follows Skandar, who is called to save the island where the unicorns roam free. He’s thrown into a fantastical world that he’s only ever dreamt of, but will he be able to save the island?

By the Book by Jasmine Guillory (May 3, 2022) – Jasmine Guillory has become an auto-buy author for me because I love her romance books. By the Book is a Beauty and the Beast-inspired romance that takes place in the world of publishing. I love Beauty and the Beast, I love bookish books, and I love romance, so I’m sure this book is going to be great.

Zachary Ying and the Dragon Emperor by Xiran Jay Zhao (May 10, 2022) – May is an excellent month for middle-grade releases. This book is about a boy who journeys across China to seal the underworld shut and save the mortal realm. The main character has to learn about his heritage and Chinese mythology along the way, and I’m also looking forward to learning about that as I read. It also features an AR gaming headset that gets possessed by a spirit, which sounds like a lot of fun.

Something Wilder by Christina Lauren (May 17, 2022) – I really enjoy Christina Lauren’s books. I’ve only read a few of their books, but the ones I’ve read have brought me a lot of joy. Something Wilder is about a daughter of a notorious treasure hunter who uses her Father’s old maps to guide tourists on fake treasure hunts. Of course, she does not expect to run into the man she thought she left behind, but when he and his friends join one of her treasure hunts, who knows what will happen next.

Theo Tan and the Fox Spirit by Jesse Q. Sutanto (May 31, 2022) – I loved Dial A For Aunties, and when I saw that Jesse Q. Sutanto was releasing a middle-grade book, I knew that I had to add it to my neverending TBR. This book is about a Chinese American boy who inherits a grieving fox spirit, and in order to solve the mystery of his brother’s death, he has to learn to embrace his culture. This story sounds like a lot of fun, and I’m interested in learning about Theo Tan’s heritage while he and the fox spirit work to solve the mystery.
