Hello Everyone!
Today is Thursday, which means it’s book tag day! Today I’m doing the 20 Questions Tag, which I was tagged to do by the wonderful Esther at Cozy With Books. If you aren’t following Esther yet, you really should because she is wonderful!
I’m tagging everyone who likes doing book tags in this one!
1. How Many Books Is Too Many Books In a Series?
I don’t know how to answer this because I’m really bad at reading series. If it’s a bunch of books that take place in the same universe, I don’t think there’s a limit, especially if each book can be read as a standalone. Otherwise, I’m not sure because I’m so bad at reading series.
2. How Do You Feel About Cliffhangers?
I don’t like cliffhangers because by the time I get my hands on the next book, I’ve usually forgotten a decent amount of what happened. I’m also bad at reading series, which makes cliffhangers even worse.
3. Hardback or Paperback?
Paperbacks. They take up less space, they’re less heavy, and they’re easier to hold. Hardbacks are pretty and I love looking at them, but they’re just a lot more difficult to handle.
4. Favourite Book?
This is a cruel question; I can’t even tell you what my favourite book I’ve read this year is. Some honourable mentions of possible favourites include The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, The Hating Game by Sally Thorne, You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle, Amari and the Night Brothers by B.B. Alston, and A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle
5. Least Favorite Book?
This is also a cruel question; I don’t think I have a least favourite book. There have been books that I didn’t like, and books that I gave up on and didn’t finish, but I don’t think I have a least favourite.
6. Love Triangles: Yes or No?
No, no thank you, I am not a fan. I watch The Young and the Restless and that’s enough Love Shapes for me, so I don’t need them in the books I read.
7. The Most Recent Book You Just Couldn’t Finish?
I think the last book I DNF’d was One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston. I loved Red, White, and Royal Blue, but I couldn’t get into One Last Stop because I was getting annoyed with some of the main character’s life choices. I might give this one another try though, we’ll see.
8. A Book You’re Currently Reading?
Right now, I’m still reading Skandar and the Unicorn Thief by A.F. Steadman. I am really enjoying it, I’m looking forward to seeing how it ends, it’s just difficult to find time to read right now.
9. The Last Book You Recommended to Someone?
A few weeks ago my friend asked for some Middle-Grade recommendations and I mentioned Frostheart by Jamie Littler and Winterhouse by Ben Guterson.
10. Oldest Book You’ve Read by Publication Date?
I feel like Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is the oldest book that I’ve read in its entirety. It was written in 1818.
11. Newest Book You’ve Read by Publication Date?
I think the newest book I’ve read is Happy-Go-Lucky by David Sedaris, which is scheduled to be released on May 31, 2022.
12. Favourite Author?
Once again, this is a cruel question because I have lots of favourites. I really like Agatha Christie, Ben Aaronovitch, Sarah Hogle, and many many more.
13. Buying Books or Borrowing Books?
I like buying books. There’s just something about having overflowing shelves that brings me joy, even if everyone says they’re hazardous.
14. A Book That You Dislike That Everyone Else Seems to Love?
I really wasn’t a fan of Frankly in Love by David Yoon, which seemed to be quite popular.
15. Bookmarks or Dog-Ears?
Bookmarks, always bookmarks. Even if I don’t have a bookmark, I’d rather slip a random piece of paper to mark my page before dog-earring a book.
16. A Book You can Always Reread?
I can always reread The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. I’ve read this book so many times and I always love it.
17. Can You Read While Hearing Music?
Absolutely not. I lose focus easily, so music and reading doesn’t work well for me. Sometimes I struggle to read when the tv is on too loud in the other room.
18. One or Multiple POVs?
I like both, but I prefer multiple POVs because it’s nice to get someone else’s perspective of what is going on in the story.
19. Do You Read A Book In One-Sitting or Over Multiple Days?
If I had time, I would gladly read a book in one sitting, but I don’t remember the last time I’ve had the time to do that, so reading over multiple days it is!
20. A Book You’ve Read Because of the Cover?
I bought Heartless by Marissa Meyer because I liked the cover. It took me years and years to read it, but I finally did and it was nice to check it off of my TBR.
