June TBR Tackle Challenge Announcement

Hello Everyone!

It’s almost June, which means it’s time for the June reading prompts for the TBR Tackle Challenge!

If you aren’t familiar with the TBR Tackle Challenge, it’s a reading challenge that I co-host with from.TBR.to.READ, theartsy_bookworm88, and hplreads. The goal of the challenge is to read the books that you already own and to “tackle your TBR.” Every month we post five prompts to help you decide what books to read from your TBR. You can find out more information on Instagram, and if you have any questions, please let me know!

We had a lot of fun coming up with the prompts for this month, and we hope you enjoy them! Make sure to tag us in any posts on Instagram so we can see what you’re reading.

Here are the June prompts!

LGBTQIA2S+ Rep

June is Pride Month! In honour of this, we want you to read a book with LGBTQIA2S+ rep. There are so many great books that can be chosen for this prompt, and we cannot wait to see what you choose.

Friendship

June 8th is National Best Friend Day. To celebrate, read a book with friendship in it. You can pick a book where there’s a group of friends, a book where the main character has a best friend, or a book with an unusual friendship between the characters. There are lots of ways to interpret this prompt, and we hope you have fun with it.

Book with a Father Figure

In Canada and the USA (and possibly other countries), June 19th is Father’s Day. To celebrate, read a book with a father figure in it. This can be a character who is a father or grandfather, or a character who acts like a father to the characters in the book.

Yellow on the Cover

June 21st is the first day of Summer! To celebrate, read a book with yellow on the cover. As long as the book has some yellow on the cover, you can use it for this prompt.

Dark Academia

June is graduation season, and to celebrate this, we want you to pick up some dark academia. Dark Academia usually takes place in a school-like setting, and something dark usually happens in it. Some examples that I can think of off the top of my head are Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson, A Lesson in Vengeance by Victoria Lee, and The Secret History by Donna Tartt.

If you have any questions about any of the prompts, let me know! Happy TBR Tackling!
