Hello Everyone!

Today is Thursday, which means it’s book tag day! Today I’m doing the Pride Book Tag which was created by Elle at Unwrapping Words! If you aren’t following Elle already, you really should because she is awesome!

The only rule for this tag is that all of the books should be LGBTQIA+ in some way.

1. YA

For this question, I’m going to go with Only Mostly Devastated by Sophie Gonzales. This Grease inspired YA book is a lot of fun. The main characters are great, and the romance was super cute. It also featured a great group of side characters that I adored and I would love to see more from one day.

2. Author

Aiden Thomas was the first author I thought of for this question. So far, I’ve only read Cemetery Boys, which I loved. I’m also looking forward to reading Lost in the Neverwoods at some point, because the premise sounds very intriguing.

3. Historical

Historical Fiction is one of those genres that I like, but I don’t read very often, so the only book I could think of for this one was The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. There are a few historical fiction books by Alexis Hall that I want to read at some point that would also work for this question, including Something Fabulous and A Lady for A Duke.

4. Book You Can’t Wait to Read

I’m really looking forward to reading Out of the Blue by Jason June! I received an ARC of this book, but then life got in the way, and I haven’t had a chance to pick it up yet. The premise of this one sounds like a lot of fun, especially because it features merpeople, and I’m hoping I can get to it soon.

5. Adult

May Day by Josie Jaffrey is the first book that I thought of for this one. May Day was the BBNYA 2021 winner and it was fantastic! It has vampires and mysteries and I cannot recommend it enough.

6. Graphic Novel

I was going to say Heartstopper by Alice Oseman for this one, but then I remembered Bloodlust and Bonnets by Emily McGovern existed! I don’t remember much about Bloodlust and Bonnets, but it was a lot of fun. The one thing that I do remember is Lord Byron and vampires, which should make this book intriguing to most people!

7. Wildcard!/Free Choice

For this question, I’m going to pick Twelfth by Janet Key! This middle-grade mystery takes place at a theatre camp that is putting on a production of Twelfth Night. It switches back and forth between the past and the present, it’s full of twists and turns, and it has lots of amazing queer characters.
