Today is Thursday, which means it’s book tag day! I found this tag on Zezee with Book’s A Long List of Book Tags and it looked like the perfect summer book tag. This tag was created by The Left-Handed Book Lover. I’m tagging anyone who likes book tags to join in on this one!
The Sand: A book that stuck with you long after you finished reading
Never Saw You Coming by Erin Hahn is a book that stuck with me long after I finished it. The characters in this book were amazing, and the discussion about the Church was very memorable and relatable.
The Sun: A book that burned you
The most recent book that burned me was The Perfect Date by Evelyn Lozada. The premise of this book was promising, especially the fake dating part, but instead the book was all drama and I had zero interest in the relationship between the two main characters.
The Waves: A book that calms you down after a long day
I don’t have a specific comfort book for this question, but I think Agatha Christie’s Poirot books are pretty comforting. It’s nice knowing that there’s not going to be anything too gory or graphic, that there are going to be twists and turns to keep me engaged and guessing, and that Poirot is going to figure out who the guilty party is while keeping his moustache perfect.
The Bathing Suit: A book with a pretty, summer-y cover
I think the cover of You Have a Match by Emma Lord screams summer. The lake, the sunsets, and the kayaks are all very summer-y.
The Birds: A book that is everywhere
The first book that came to mind for this question was The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood. This book has been everywhere for months now and I don’t see the hype dying down anytime soon with Ali Hazelwood’s next book coming out in a few months.
The Company: A book with wonderful characters
My most recent read with wonderful characters was The Librarian Spy by Madeline Martin. I loved Ava and Elaine and I became very invested in their story.
The Ice-Cold Drinks: A book you absolutely gulped down
Right now, I’m currently gulping down Four Aunties and a Wedding by Jesse Q Sutanto. This is the sequel to Dial A For Aunties and it is such a fun book. I love the Aunties and all of the shenanigans they pull, and this book has me laughing at every chapter because it’s all so ridiculous.
The Fun Memories: A book you can’t wait to return to
I cannot wait to return to the Department of Supernatural Investigations when Amari and the Great Game by B.B. Alston comes out. Amari and the Night Brothers was such an excellent book with a brilliant main character, and I’m looking forward to seeing what adventures Amari gets herself into in the next book.
