Hello Everyone!
Today is Thursday, which means it’s book tag day! I found this Summer Book Tag on Erika’s blog at And On She Reads. This tag is perfect for this time of year because we have some peak summer weather right now, and I dislike it.
Iced Drink: A Refreshing Book
I found Four Aunties and a Wedding by Jesse Q. Sutanto to be quite refreshing. It was nice reading a book that was full of nonsense and shenanigans and characters who truly loved each other and would do anything for each other.
Cotton Candy: A Book That Was Fluffy and Sweet
The last book that I read that was fluffy and sweet was Crumbs by Danie Stirling. This coming-of-age graphic novel had a little bit of magic, a little bit of romance, and a whole lot of cute.
Sunglasses: A Dark Book
I thought Man Down by James Goodhand was a dark book. It was outside of my comfort zone and I found the ending to be far too dark for my liking.
Picnic On A Rainy Day: A Sad Book
I read this book a long time ago, but I thought The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery was very sad. I don’t remember much about this book, but I do remember crying on my floor after I read it.
Sand: A Book That Irritated You
The last book that I read that irritated me was The Perfect Date by Evelyn Lozada. I read this book a few weeks ago and the plot can be summarised as drama. I don’t mind a bit of drama, but the entire plot was drama and the relationship between the characters made zero sense.
Summer Blockbuster: Favourite Book to Screen Adaptation
I don’t watch a lot of television or movies, so this is a tough question to answer. However, I am a fan of the film adaptation of To All The Boys I Loved Before by Jenny Han because it’s so cute.
Dropped Ice Cream: A Book You Were Anticipating That Wasn’t Good
The last book that I read that I was anticipating but ended up disappointed by was Happy-Go-Lucky by David Sedaris. I’ve been a fan of Sedaris for almost a decade, but this book just left me feeling disappointed and slightly icky.
Palm Tree: A Large Book That You Loved
I don’t read a lot of overly chunky books, but the last large book that I enjoyed was The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. This book was 487 pages, which I think makes it the largest book I’ve read this year, so far.
Bonfire: A Book You Want to Burn
I don’t particularly want to burn any books, partly because that’s dangerous and partly because I’m not a fan of burning books.
Fireworks: A Book That Exploded Into the Scene
I think The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood exploded into the scene. This book came out of nowhere and now it’s everywhere, and I don’t think it’s going away anytime soon.
