August TBR Tackle Challenge Announcement

August Banner

Hello Everyone!

We’re halfway through July, which means it’s time for the August reading prompts for the TBR Tackle Challenge!

If you aren’t familiar with the TBR Tackle Challenge, it’s a reading challenge that I co-host with from.TBR.to.READ, theartsy_bookworm88, and hplreads. The goal of the challenge is to read the books that you already own and to “tackle your TBR.” Every month we post five prompts to help you decide what books to read from your TBR. You can find out more information on Instagram, and if you have any questions, please let me know!

Here are the August prompts!

Pastel Cover

Right now, we’re in the middle of summer and it’s making me think of pastel colours. I don’t know why, but pastels always make me think of warm weather and sunshine. Pick up a book with a pastel cover this month.

Quick Read

I don’t know about you, but for me, summer involves a lot of activities that take away from my reading time. Whether is seeing friends and family, going to various events, or just trying to soak up as much sunshine as possible. To combat this, I tend to reach for quicker reads in the summer because I don’t know how much time I’ll have to read. There’s no set definition of what a quick read is, for some people it’s their favourite genre, for some people it’s a book under a certain number of pages, and for other people it’s a book with short chapters. Pick up something that you think will be a quick read.

Title Starts with “A”

It’s August, and to honour that, we want you to pick up a book that starts with “A”. This can be a book where the first word in the title is “A” (like A Murder is Announced by Agatha Christie) or it can be a book that just starts with the letter “A” (like Amari and the Night Brothers by B.B. Alston).

Thriller

Is it just me, or does it seem like there’s an abundance of thrillers everywhere in the summer months? Maybe it’s because these books are quick reads that are good reading at the beach or the pool side, or maybe because we need a little bit of spooky in the warmer months. This month, we want you to pick up a thriller. Or, if thriller isn’t necessarily your thing, something with some sort of mystery in it.

Book with Sisters

National Sisters Day falls in August and to celebrate this, we want you to pick up a book with sisters in it.

If you have any questions about any of the prompts, let me know! Happy TBR Tackling!
