This was one of my more anticipated books of the year and I’m happy to say that it did not disappoint. I went into it expecting chaos and shenanigans and that’s exactly what I got.
If you go into this book and start thinking about how the plot doesn’t make sense and none of this could ever happen, you’re not going to enjoy this book. The plot of this book is over-the-top and full of pure shenanigans, and it could never happen in real life. However, if you go into it, expecting to laugh at all of the chaos, I think you’ll have a great time with this book.
My favourite part of this book was the Aunties. They’re so ridiculous and I can’t help but love them. I loved the outfits they wore to the wedding, I loved that they tried to learn British slang, and I loved how much they love Meddy and Nathan. They had so many moments that made me laugh-out-loud, and it was really refreshing to read something so funny.
I also really liked Meddy and Nathan in this book. Meddy is such a great character in general and I enjoyed watching her trying to sort out all of the chaos that was going on. Nathan is just a cinnamon roll and he’s such a good sport for handling Meddy’s family as well as he can.
I did kind of feel bad for Meddy and Nathan because their wedding didn’t go as planned. I also felt bad for the guests at the wedding because they witnessed quite a trainwreck. However, the guests at the wedding will definitely be talking about it for a long time as an example of what not to do.
I don’t want to talk too much about the ending of the book because I don’t want to spoil anything. I’ll just say that I liked that everything worked out for the characters.
Overall, this book was a fun read. It was funny and it was nice to read something so ridiculous and over the top.
