Hello everyone!

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme created by Bionic Bookworm, and it’s now hosted by Meeghan Reads. If you’re interested in participating, check out their wonderful blog to get the details and the prompts for each week!

August is another scavenger hunt month for Top 5 Tuesday and I am very excited for it! This week’s Top 5 Tuesday topic is Top 5 Books with Keys! I enjoy scavenger hunt months because I like exploring my shelves to see what I can find. The first four books on my list this week were easy to think of, the last one was a bit more of a struggle.

Octavia Bloom and the Missing Key by Estelle Grace Tudor – This magical middle-grade book was the first book I thought of when I saw this week’s prompt. The key is front and centre on this cover and I think it does a wonderful job of drawing potential readers in. This book features a magical fairy world, a family secret, and lots of adventure. It’s definitely worth checking out for fans of middle-grade fantasy.

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett – There are a lot of editions of the classic children’s story and some of them happen to have a key on the cover. I read this book a few years ago and I really don’t remember much about it. I do remember thinking that the secret garden was a magical place and that I wouldn’t mind exploring it.

The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes – Even though the key is right in the centre of this cover, it’s a bit difficult to spot because there’s a lot going on with this cover. The Inheritance Games trilogy is one of my favourite series and I cannot wait to see how everything wraps up when The Final Gambit is released later this month.

Hotel Magnifique by Emily J. Taylor – I haven’t read this book yet, but I’ve heard great things about it and it’s on my TBR. This book sounds like it’s quite magical, which is always a good thing. I also love the colours of this cover, and I bet it looks even better in person.

Nightbooks by J.A. White – This book does not have a key on the cover, but the doorway on the cover looks like a keyhole, so I’m going to use it for this week’s scavenger hunt. I started this book a while ago but ended up taking a break because it was too spooky. I’m hoping to pick it up again in October, because I think it’ll be a perfect Halloween read.
