3 Bookish Things Tag

Hello Everyone!

It’s Thursday, which means it’s tag day! Today I’m doing the 3 Bookish Things Tag. I found this tag on ZeZeeWithBooks’ long list of book tags. If you’re a fan of book tags, definitely check this list out. Once again, I’m not tagging anyone specific, so if you like book tags, consider yourself tagged!

3 read once and loved authors

Sally Thorne, Sarah Hogle, and Jen DeLuca. I loved The Hating Game by Sally Thorne, You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle, and Well Met by Jen DeLuca. I own more than one book by all three of these authors, and I’ve been looking forward to reading them, but sometimes the TBR gets a bit too overwhelming. I do have an ARC coming of the latest Sally Thorne book though, which I’m planning on diving into as soon as it arrives.

3 titles I’ve watched but haven’t read

So, I don’t want a lot of tv shows or movies, which makes this question quite difficult. The first book that came to mind was the Temperance Brennan series by Kathy Reichs. Bones is one of my favourite TV shows, but I’ve never been interested in reading the book series. The next book I thought of was The Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot. I love the movie, but I haven’t read any of the books. The last book I could come up with was P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern, which I don’t remember much about, but I do know that I haven’t read the book.

3 characters you love

Right now, some of my favourite characters include Amari from Amari and the Night Brothers by B.B. Alston; Hercule Poirot from the Agatha Christie books; and Jack Valentine from May Day by Josie Jaffrey. Amari is just such a wonderful character and I cannot wait for Amari and the Great Game. Hercule Poirot is a comfort character for me and I will always love him. Jack Valentine is a bit of a mess, but she’s brilliant, and I love her.

3 series binged

I don’t really binge series, so this is a difficult question. I kind of binged the Truly Devious series by Maureen Johnson because I reread Truly Devious and The Vanishing Stair before The Hand on the Wall was released. I read one Rivers of London book by Ben Aaronovitch a month, which was close to bingeing for me. I guess I also kind of binged the A Study in Charlotte series by Brittany Cavallaro because I read those books relatively close together.

3 Unpopular bookish opinions

Hardcovers are overrated. They’re pretty, but they aren’t very portable and they take up extra space. The amount of influence BookTok has in the book world makes me nervous. I haven’t read any books by Colleen Hoover, but there’s something about them that makes me not want to read them, even though they’re so popular. I’m not quite sure what it is, but I’m very sceptical of them.

3 Current favourite book covers

These aren’t my favourite covers, but here are three covers I’m enjoying right now:

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna

Every Summer After by Carley Fortune

Small Town, Big Magic by Hazel Beck

3 Bookish goals for the year

My goals for this year were to read more middle grade, read more indie books, and to increase my NetGalley ratio. As of right now, I’m not doing great with any of those goals.
