Unforgettable Bookish Memories Tag

Hello Everyone!

It’s Thursday, which means it’s tag day! Today I’m doing the Unforgettable Bookish Memories Tag. I found this tag on ZeZeeWithBooks’ and it looked like a lot of fun. It looks like this tag was created by Lisa at A Book Calls, but it looks like their blog doesn’t exist anymore.

No. 1: The First Book You Ever Read (or was read to you)

I have no idea what the first book I ever read was, but the first book I remember being obsessed with was Pickle Things by Marc Brown. This children’s book is silly and nonsensical and full of pickles. It was one of my favourites and I really ought to try to find a copy of it.

No 2: The First Book You Ever Bought With Your Own Money

Once again, I really don’t remember the first book I ever bought with my own money because it was far too long ago. If I had to take a guess, it was either part of the Dive series by Gordon Korman or a Mary Kate and Ashley book.

No 3: A Book You Stayed Up All Night Reading

This is another difficult question because it’s been a long time since I’ve stayed up all night reading. I think I stayed up fairly late to finish It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey though.

No 4: What Book or Series Will You Never Forget?

I don’t think I’ll ever forget A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket because it’s the series that got me into reading.

No 5: A Book You Frequently Think About

I spend a lot of time thinking about Agatha Christie books in general. Lately, I’ve been reading one Poirot book a month so Hercule Poirot ends up being on my mind a lot.

No 6: A Scene That Has Haunted You for Years After Reading It

This doesn’t really count because I finished the book last week, but there are scenes from White Smoke by Tiffany D. Jackson that will haunt me for years.

No 7: An Unforgettable Character

I think Evelyn Hugo from The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid is pretty unforgettable.

No 8: A Book That Changed Your Opinion About Something

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne changed my opinion about romance novels. Before I read The Hating Game, I incorrectly thought that romance novels were basically those Harlequin novels with the half-naked cowboys on the cover. The Hating Game showed me that the romance section was much more than that and I have been obsessed ever since.

No 9: Share a Random Bookish Memory

I remember when I went out west with my family, my brother lent me his copy of All My Friends Are Superheroes by Andrew Kaufman to read on the short flight from Edmonton to Vancouver. It was cool reading the novella in such a short period of time, but it was also cool because the main character has to complete his task before his wife’s plane lands in Vancouver, so the timing was quite excellent.
