Hello Everyone!
It’s Thursday, which means it is book tag day! Today I’m doing the It’s Finally Fall Book Tag. I was tagged to do this by Jenny at Jenjenreviews. If you aren’t following Jenny yet, you really need to do so because she is amazing. I’m not sure who originally created this tag, but if you know, please let me know so I can give them a shoutout.
I’m not tagging anyone specific in this one, so if you see this, consider yourself tagged!
Here we go:
In fall, the air is crisp and clear | Name a book with a vivid setting!
I don’t know if vivid is the right word for this, but I love the setting of Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson. I’ve never been to Vermont, but I could picture the setting quite well while reading this book.
Nature is beautiful… but also dying | Name a book that is beautifully written, but also deals with a heavy topic like loss or grief.
The first book I thought of for this question is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. This book takes place during World War Two and deals with some heavy topics, it’s also beautifully written and full of very moving lines.
Fall is back to school season | Share a non-fiction book that taught you something new.
It’s been a long time since I’ve read any non-fiction, so I think I’m going to skip this question. However, I generally learn lots of new things and fun tidbits from fiction.
In order to keep warm, it’s good to spend time with the people we love | Name a fictional family/household/friend-group that you’d like to be a part of.
I think it would be fun to be a part of The Folly from the Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch. I don’t necessarily want to deal with crimes, but I think there would be lots of interesting things to see at the Folly and Molly loves to cook.
The colourful leaves are piling up on the ground | Show us a pile of fall-coloured spines!
This is another question that I’m going to skip because I’m not near my shelves right now, sorry!
Fall is the perfect time for some storytelling by the fireside | Share a book wherein somebody is telling a story.
I feel like a lot of the Poirot books by Agatha Christie fall into this category. The books narrated by Hastings certainly fit.
The nights are getting darker | Share a dark, creepy read.
I thought Dread Wood by Jennifer Killick was very a very creepy read. I don’t deal with creepy very well, so I found the spiders in this book to be terrifying.
The days are getting colder | Name a short, heartwarming read that could warm up somebody’s cold and rainy day.
Crumbs by Danie Stirling falls into this category! It’s a coming-of-age graphic novel and it is super adorable and heartwarming.
Fall returns every year | Name an old favourite that you’d like to return to soon.
I would like to reread The Hating Game by Sally Thorne sometime soon because it’s one of my favourite romance novels and I’d love to see Josh and Lucy again.
Fall is the perfect time for cosy reading nights | Share your favourite cosy reading accessories
I love book sleeves! They don’t necessarily make me cozy, but they make the books cozy, so they count!
