Hello Everyone!
February is quickly approaching, which means it’s time for the February prompts for the TBR Tackle Challenge.
If you’re new to the TBR Tackle Challenge, it’s a reading challenge that I co-host with from.TBR.to.READ, theartsy_bookworm88, and hplreads. The goal of the challene is to read the books that you already own and to “tackle your TBR.” Every month, we post five prompts to help you decide what books to read from your existing TBR. You can use the same book for multiple prompts, and you don’t have to pick books for all of the prompts if you don’t want to. The TBR Tackle Challenge started on Instagram, but we’re also on Twitter, Goodreads, and Storygraph.
If you have any questions about the TBR Tackle Challenge, please let me know!
Here are the prompts for February!
Starts with C or D
We’re continuing on with our alphabet challenge this month and we want you to read a book that starts with either the letter “C” or “D”. It’s up to you how you treat titles that start with “The” or “A”.
Enemies to Lovers
February means Valentine’s Day and this month we’re honouring one of our favourite tropes. Read a book that features the enemies-to-lovers trope. This book can be any genre, as long as two of the characters start off with a bit of animosity towards each other and then the sparks start to fly later on.
Dark Purple on the Cover
February’s birthstone is amethyst and to honour this we want you to read a book with dark purple on the cover. The cover doesn’t have to be entirely dark purple, but as long as there’s a decent amount of dark purple on it, you can use it for this prompt.
Cooking
Read a book where cooking or food play an important role in the story. This can be a character who loves to cook, a book that takes place in a kitchen or a restaurant, or a book that has a cooking scene in it.
Under 300 Pages
February is a short month, and we thought it would be fun to read a short book this month. Read a book under 300 pages for this prompt.
If you have any questions about any of the prompts, let me know! Happy TBR Tackling!

[…] Ashlee at Books Are 42 cohosts this challenge with from.TBR.to.READ, theartsy_bookworm88, and hplreads. As the name suggests, the goal is to read books you already own to “tackle” your TBR list. It started on Instagram, but the hosts’ goal for 2023 is to move away from Instagram and expand to other platforms like Twitter, Goodreads, and Storygraph. Each month the challenge hosts post five prompts to help you decide what to choose from your TBR. I opted to participate via Storygraph. I thought this would be pretty easy to do since it aligns really well with the Project Backlist challenge above. The February TBR Tackle Challenge announcement is here. […]
