March is quickly approaching, which means it’s time for the March prompts for the TBR Tackle Challenge.

If you’re new to the TBR Tackle Challenge, it’s a reading challenge that I co-host with from.TBR.to.READ, theartsy_bookworm88, and hplreads. The goal of the challenge is to read the books that you already own and to “tackle your TBR.” Every month, we post five prompts to help you decide what books to read from your existing TBR. You can use the same book for multiple prompts, and you don’t have to pick books for all of the prompts if you don’t want to. The TBR Tackle Challenge started on Instagram, but we’re also on Twitter, Goodreads, and Storygraph.

Here are the prompts for March!

Starts with E or F

Once again, we’re carrying on with the alphabet this month and now we’re tackling “E” and “F”! Read a book that has a title that starts with either “E” or “F” for this prompt. It’s up to you how you treat titles that start with “The” or “A”.

Secret Identity/Birthright

Read a book with either the secret identity or the birthright trope. For the secret identity trope, this is a character who has a secret identity, whether they’re a superhero, a spy, a ghostwriter, a lost royal, etc. For the birthright trope, this is a character who was born into something. This could be that their the heir to the throne, or the secret heir to the throne, the next leader of a country or group, or anything like that.

Female Author

March is Women’s History Month and to honour that we want you to read a book by a female author.

Gold on the Cover

St. Patrick’s Day is in March, which made us think about the gold at the end of the rainbow. Pick a book with gold on the cover, this can be as much or as little gold as you’d like.

Book with a Dog In It

March 23rd is National Puppy Day! To celebrate, read a book with a dog in it.
